Rosie O’Donnell joins as Mary; other additions include Cheri Oteri, Patti LuPone, Kristen Schaal, Logan Marshall-Green, Mehcad Brooks and Jonathan Cake. Kim Cattrall does not return as Samantha this season.
Who is in And Just Like That Season 3?
The core trio remains Sarah Jessica Parker as Carrie Bradshaw, Cynthia Nixon as Miranda Hobbes and Kristin Davis as Charlotte York-Goldenblatt. Season 3 also continues stories involving the women’s friends, partners and families. The table distinguishes original Sex and the City characters from characters introduced in And Just Like That; “returning” means the performer is back in Season 3, not that every character appears in every episode.

Who are the new cast members and cameos?

Is Samantha in Season 3?
No. Kim Cattrall does not return as Samantha Jones in Season 3. Her brief appearance as Samantha was in the Season 2 finale, not this season. TV Guide reported that Cattrall responded to a fan’s claim she would return with: “Aw that’s so kind but I’m not.” (TV Guide; Vulture).

Are Che and Nya in the new season?
Che Diaz, played by Sara Ramirez, and Nya Wallace, played by Karen Pittman, are reported absent from Season 3. TV Guide says Che’s storyline was considered to have reached a natural conclusion after the relationship with Miranda ended, and attributes Nya’s absence to scheduling conflicts (TV Guide; Sky).
What changes in the season’s storytelling?
Carrie’s internal voiceover returns, restoring a device associated with the original series. In an Associated Press report published May 30, 2025, Parker said, “We’ve always loved the voiceover. It’s a rhythm — it’s part of the DNA.” AP also described Season 3 as narrowing its focus on the emotional cores of Carrie, Miranda and Charlotte (Associated Press).

Nixon described Miranda’s queer awakening as a genuine change rather than a repudiation of her earlier life: “There’s never a ‘too late’ moment. Miranda comes to queerness at 55,” she said, adding, “That doesn’t mean everything that came before was wrong. It just means this is her now. And it’s messy. It can be messy. But it’s real.” The remarks were reported by AP on May 30, 2025 (Associated Press).
