A 2026 Cybernews report says users on 4chan generated and circulated non-consensual sexualized deepfake images of several female Olympic athletes during the Winter Olympics, naming figure skater Alysa Liu among them. That is a media-reported allegation—not confirmation that any particular image is authentic, or that Liu or her representatives have verified the images or described a response.
What is known about the Alysa Liu deepfake report?
The claim comes from Cybernews’ 2026 coverage of alleged sexualized AI-generated images of female Olympic athletes. The report names Liu, but the available evidence does not establish the authenticity of a particular image or confirm that Liu or her representatives made a public statement about the allegation. Nor is there a confirmed record here of action taken on any specific post. Keep those distinctions in mind when encountering screenshots or reposts: an image circulating online is not proof that it depicts a real event or that the person shown consented.
No incident-specific, attributable statement from Liu, her representatives, or a named official is established in the reviewed coverage. There is also no verified incident statistic describing the scale or prevalence of the alleged material. Cybernews’ report is the source for the allegation; it should not be treated as independent authentication.
How to report a suspected deepfake
Reporting routes differ by platform. If you find a post, use the platform’s own reporting or privacy process and describe the content accurately. A report submits the issue for review; it does not guarantee removal.

TikTok
- Open the post and select the option to report it, either in the app or in a browser.
- Choose Misinformation, then Deepfakes, synthetic media, and manipulated media, and submit the report. These are the categories TikTok specifies in its video-reporting guidance.
TikTok says creators should label fully AI-generated or significantly AI-edited content that presents realistic people or scenes. Its rules also prohibit some harmful material even when it is labeled, including certain non-consensual uses of an adult private person’s likeness. A label is therefore not permission to post every depiction. These are TikTok’s platform rules, not a statement of universal law. See TikTok’s integrity and authenticity guidelines.
YouTube
YouTube’s impersonation policy prohibits unauthorized impersonation that may mislead viewers. Its help process also allows a person to submit a privacy removal request for personal information, a video featuring them, or AI-generated content that mimics their likeness or voice without consent. YouTube says its review may consider context, including whether content is parody or satire and whether the person is well known. The process is an avenue to request review, not a promise that a video will be removed. Details are in YouTube’s impersonation policy and privacy complaint guidance for altered or synthetic content.

Meta platforms
Use the reporting options available on the specific Meta service and post. A separate Oversight Board case offers context, not a prediction for an Alysa Liu report: on June 23, 2026, the Board overturned Meta’s decision to leave up a reportedly AI-generated sexualized impersonation video concerning a different woman. It found that the particular Instagram post violated Meta’s Adult Sexual Exploitation Policy because it met the Board’s criteria for non-consensual intimate imagery. The finding concerned that post and person only. Read the Oversight Board decision.
Meta’s January 2020 statement described removing certain misleading manipulated videos made with AI or machine learning when they would likely mislead viewers about what a subject said. That is historical policy context, not a reliable description of current enforcement. Check the platform’s current rules for the post you are reporting.

How to handle an image you encounter
- Do not assume that a realistic-looking image is genuine, or that a platform label settles whether it is permissible.
- Avoid reposting or forwarding sexualized material. Reposting can extend its reach and make the original context harder to assess.
- Use the service’s reporting route and identify the concern as suspected AI-generated or manipulated content where the option exists.
- Do not claim that Liu confirmed the images, that a specific image is authentic, or that a platform removed a specific post unless reliable, attributable evidence supports that statement.
