The clearest Kelce connection on Taylor Swift’s original The Life of a Showgirl is “Opalite,” which Swift discussed in relation to Kelce’s opal birthstone and her idea that happiness can be made. “The Fate of Ophelia,” “Wood,” and “Wi$h Li$t” also have notable clues or contextual reasons for a Kelce reading. Other songs are linked to him by some media interpretations, but Swift has not issued a definitive track-by-track list, and Kelce is not named on the album, according to ABC News.
Which songs have the strongest Kelce connection?
These four tracks have the clearest case for a Kelce reading, though the evidence is not equally strong. “Opalite” has the most direct connection in Swift’s own comments; the other three rest on lyrical clues, subject matter, or album context.
| Song | What supports the connection | How certain to describe it |
|---|---|---|
| “Opalite” | Swift discussed the word’s connection to opal, Kelce’s October birthstone, and described the man-made stone as a metaphor for making happiness. | Strongest artist-commentary connection; not necessarily a one-to-one account of the relationship. |
| “The Fate of Ophelia” | Romantic rescue imagery and reported clues associated with Kelce, including wording linked to his public “Keep it 100” phrase and a “team” reference. | A strongly supported interpretation, not a direct naming of Kelce. |
| “Wood” | ABC News identifies a “New Heights” reference in the lyrics; the song also uses playful sexual innuendo. | A pointed Kelce-related reference, not a literal biography. |
| “Wi$h Li$t” | Its romantic wishes include a best friend the narrator finds attractive and the prospect of children. | A natural contextual reading, but Swift described the wishes more generally. |
“Opalite”
ABC News reports that Swift said she became interested in opalite after learning it was a man-made opal, connecting the word to Kelce’s opal birthstone. She also framed the stone as a metaphor for happiness people can create. That makes “Opalite” the most directly supported Kelce-related song, while leaving room for its broader reflection on happiness. ABC News also reports that Swift and Kelce have both called it a favorite.
“The Fate of Ophelia”
The song invokes Ophelia from Shakespeare’s Hamlet and imagines a different outcome from her tragic fate. TIME reads the beloved as Kelce, while ABC News points to lyric clues associated with his public language and the idea of a “team.” Swift acknowledged the Hamlet reference and discussed combining Shakespearean storytelling with modern language in release-period coverage. The romantic connection is strong in context, but Kelce is not named.

“Wood”
The “New Heights” wording is the clearest Kelce-linked clue in “Wood,” according to ABC News. The track’s teasing double meanings also make it a joke about sexual confidence, luck, and superstition, as TV Insider interprets it. It is better understood as playful wordplay with a Kelce reference than as a factual account of their relationship.
“Wi$h Li$t”
ABC News reports Swift described “Wi$h Li$t” as a dreamy, romantic song about the things she wants, set against more worldly ambitions. Its imagined partner is a best friend she finds attractive, and the song looks toward having children. Those details make Kelce a plausible reading in the album’s context; they do not establish that Swift identified every wish as a specific plan with him.

Which other songs have been interpreted as being about Kelce?
ELLE and TV Insider include “Elizabeth Taylor,” “Eldest Daughter,” and “Honey” in their Kelce-oriented readings. These are media interpretations, not a confirmed list from Swift.
“Elizabeth Taylor”
The song can be read through the overlap of love and public scrutiny. Swift’s reported comments about Elizabeth Taylor emphasize her admiration for the actor’s ability to live under intense attention while continuing to make art, and the parallels Swift sees with her own public life. Kelce may fit the song’s relationship context, but reducing it to a song only about him misses that broader focus.

“Eldest Daughter” and “Honey”
ELLE and TV Insider read “Eldest Daughter” as a song about commitment and “Honey” as a changed response to a term of endearment. Those readings place the songs within a relationship narrative, but the outlets’ interpretations should not be presented as Swift’s confirmed explanations.
What about the rest of the original album?
The original The Life of a Showgirl has 12 tracks. The Apple Music listing gives its release date as October 3, 2025, and its length as 41 minutes. The tracklist, in order, is “The Fate of Ophelia,” “Elizabeth Taylor,” “Opalite,” “Father Figure,” “Eldest Daughter,” “Ruin the Friendship,” “Actually Romantic,” “Wi$h Li$t,” “Wood,” “Cancelled!,” “Honey,” and “The Life of a Showgirl” featuring Sabrina Carpenter.

The sources do not establish “Father Figure,” “Ruin the Friendship,” “Actually Romantic,” or the title track as songs about Kelce. TV Insider reads “Actually Romantic” as a response to a perceived antagonist and “Ruin the Friendship” as looking back at a school friend; these are outlet readings, not definitive explanations. Release-era coverage treats the title track, featuring Sabrina Carpenter, as a separate show-business narrative. A romantic lyric alone is not enough to identify Kelce as its subject.
This answer concerns the original 12-track release, not the later expanded edition. The Associated Press reported that The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore adds four tracks, and Apple Music presents it as a separate 16-song version. Those added songs should not be folded into a list of Kelce references on the original album.

How to distinguish a reference from a confirmed attribution
- Artist commentary: Swift’s comments on “Opalite” provide a more specific connection than general romantic imagery.
- Distinctive clues: A reference tied to a public fact or phrase, such as opal or “New Heights,” is more informative than a broad love-song theme.
- Broader subject matter: A song can touch on love, fame, or commitment without being exclusively about one person. Swift described the album as drawing on her inner life while touring and characterized its mood as joyful, wild, and dramatic; that is album-wide context, not proof about each track.
- Edition: Keep the original tracklist separate from the later Encore expansion.
The most accurate short answer is therefore not a definitive list. “Opalite” has the clearest artist-commentary link; “The Fate of Ophelia,” “Wood,” and “Wi$h Li$t” have substantial contextual or lyrical support; and “Elizabeth Taylor,” “Eldest Daughter,” and “Honey” are included in some media interpretations.
