Chaz Bono’s work in music, film and advocacy
Chaz Bono grew up in the public eye, appearing on his parents’ television variety show. He later made music with the band Ceremony and became known as an author, actor and transgender advocate. Equality Forum’s 2016 profile documents this work and his Emmy-nominated documentary Becoming Chaz: Equality Forum’s Chaz Bono profile.
Transition and Becoming Chaz
Bono’s 2011 book, Transition: The Story of How I Became a Man, recounts his experience. The documentary Becoming Chaz follows his transition. Equality Forum’s profile quotes Bono reflecting on family support: “A lot of parents never speak to their transgender kids again; that’s not the case in my family.” The profile is a dated account of his work, not a current career listing.

Elijah Blue Allman’s music career
Elijah Blue Allman has a musical identity distinct from his family name. The Associated Press describes him as a former singer and guitarist for Deadsy and says he is known professionally as P. Exeter Blue. Its report also covers the 2023 court filing involving his mother; the career description is separate from the allegations in that filing. Associated Press report, Dec. 28, 2023.
What has been reported about Cher’s conservatorship filings?
The court-related reporting should be read as reporting about petitions and allegations, not proof that the claims in those filings were established. The Associated Press reported that Cher filed a petition in December 2023 seeking temporary control of Elijah’s finances. AP also reported Elijah’s response, delivered through his attorney: “I am well, and able, and of sound mind and body.”
