Alex Cooper is the host and executive producer of Call Her Daddy, a podcast that began in 2018 with candid conversations about sex and relationships and grew into a broader interview show. She has also expanded into Unwell, a creator-led media network. The story is one of changing subject matter, distribution deals and a growing slate—not a single permanent platform arrangement.
Who is Alex Cooper?
Cooper is the host and executive producer of Call Her Daddy, which SiriusXM says launched in 2018. TIME’s 2021 profile traces the show’s early period at Barstool Sports and its initial focus on frank discussions of sex and relationships. Cooper later became its solo host after a contentious split with co-host Sofia Franklyn.
TIME reported that the details of the breakdown were murky and that both Cooper and Franklyn believed they were underpaid. That account does not establish a definitive allocation of blame; it is best understood as a dispute that reshaped the show and its business, rather than a settled story with one uncontested version. TIME’s 2021 profile provides the contemporary account.
What is Call Her Daddy about?
From candid sex talk to broader conversations
The show’s original identity centered on candid sex and relationship talk. By 2021, its subject matter had broadened. In announcing the show’s move to Spotify, Spotify described episodes addressing self-love, sexual fluidity, reclaiming power after trauma, therapy, self-care and personal growth. Cooper described the show as challenging the status quo and bringing private conversations into the open; that is her characterization, not an independent assessment of the program.

TIME reported in 2021 that Cooper estimated the audience had shifted from about 60% women and 40% men in 2018 to nearly 90% women. Those figures are Cooper’s estimate as reported by TIME, not a platform-measured audience audit. In 2025, TIME described the podcast as a venue for intimate, long-form conversations with high-profile guests.
How did the podcast’s distribution change?
| Period | Announcement and scope | What it establishes |
|---|---|---|
| June 2021 | Spotify announced that Call Her Daddy would move to its platform on July 21, 2021. | A historical platform milestone and the show’s move at that time—not proof of present-day availability or exclusivity. Spotify’s announcement. |
| August 2024 | SiriusXM announced a multi-year agreement covering distribution and advertising rights for Call Her Daddy and Unwell shows, along with a strategy for new exclusive content. | The rights and plans described in the company’s announcement, not a complete account of current feeds or schedules. TIME’s 2025 retrospective reported that the Spotify agreement was a three-year, $60 million deal made in 2021 and that the SiriusXM agreement announced the previous August was a three-year, $125 million deal. These are reported deal figures, not amounts stated in the cited company announcements. TIME’s 2025 profile gives that account.

What is the Unwell Network?
Unwell is Cooper’s expansion beyond the flagship podcast. TIME dates the network’s launch to 2023 and characterizes it as a Gen Z-focused media and lifestyle brand. SiriusXM’s 2024 announcement included Unwell shows in its agreement with Cooper, extending the partnership beyond Call Her Daddy.
In January 2025, SiriusXM announced Unwell On Air and Unwell Music: live programming and a Cooper-curated music channel described as available through SiriusXM channels and its app. This is the programming plan in the announcement, not confirmation of current schedules or availability. TIME’s July 2025 profile reported more than 6 million combined followers for Cooper across Instagram and TikTok at the time of publication. That is a dated figure, not a current follower count. The same profile named her to its TIME100 Creators list.
What did Google announce about Cooper and Unwell?
In October 2025, Google announced a long-term partnership with Cooper and Unwell, naming Pixel phones, Google Workspace, Pixel Watch, Pixel Buds and Android, as well as collaboration with Unwell Creative Agency. This is a company-announced partnership; it should not be read as independent product testing or as a general recommendation to buy Google hardware. Google’s announcement.

Where can I listen to Call Her Daddy?
The cited announcements establish Spotify as the show’s destination beginning July 21, 2021, and SiriusXM’s 2024 agreement as covering distribution and advertising rights for the show and Unwell slate. They do not establish a comprehensive, current list of feeds, services, schedules or regional availability. Check the show’s current listings in the service you use rather than treating either historical announcement as a guarantee of present access.
