What is known about Monique’s relationship with her father?
The Washington Post reported that Monique encouraged Frehley to get sober in 2006. That account supports a specific role in his recovery, not the idea that she alone caused or managed it. Public reporting also offers a glimpse of their connection years later: Us Weekly said Frehley posted family photographs in 2021 with the caption, “Me & My Lovely Daughter Monique hanging out over the years!”
Why did Frehley and Trerotola separate?
Public accounts do not establish the full circumstances or the couple’s private understanding of their separation. Us Weekly describes Frehley’s recollection in his memoir, No Regrets, that Trerotola had decided to move on and was involved with someone else. What does “estranged wife” mean in this case?
It means Trerotola and Frehley were separated, not that a divorce was documented. The Washington Post described them as having separated in the 1980s without divorcing, and listed Trerotola and Monique among Frehley’s survivors when he died on October 16, 2025, at age 74.
Frehley’s memoir, No Regrets: A Rock ’N’ Roll Memoir, is a further-reading option for readers interested in his own perspective. Any specific passages about the marriage should be checked in the book itself; a summary of his recollections is not the same as a complete account of the family’s private life.
