The proposal-like photos Jasmine Pineda shared in July 2026 were not an engagement announcement. She said Matt Branistareanu had asked whether they could adopt a Chihuahua, and she agreed. The reports covering the post do not confirm that an adoption has since been completed.
What did Matt ask Jasmine?
In a July 14, 2026 report, TV Insider described a social-media carousel showing Matt on one knee with a ring box. Its early images looked like a marriage proposal, but the final slide explained the moment. Jasmine wrote: “Matt got down on one knee. Not to ask me to marry him, but to ask if we could adopt a Chihuahua. I said yes.”
CinemaBlend reported the reveal the next day and said the post also promoted a ring, with Jasmine thanking its maker, Ferreiro VCO. The ring was part of the proposal-style presentation; the reported question was about adopting a dog.
Are Jasmine and Matt engaged?
The July post did not announce an engagement. TV Insider and CinemaBlend both described it as a Chihuahua adoption decision, not a marriage proposal. Neither report establishes that Jasmine and Matt became engaged afterward.

Have they adopted the Chihuahua?
Jasmine said yes to the idea of adopting a Chihuahua, and CinemaBlend described the plan as adopting from a shelter. The reports do not name a shelter or confirm that the adoption was completed, so they do not establish that the family already has a new dog.
What is known about Jasmine’s relationship status?
TV Insider reported on June 25, 2026, that Gino Palazzolo’s representatives confirmed his and Jasmine’s divorce had been finalized in Michigan. That report came before the Chihuahua post; it is separate from the question of whether Jasmine and Matt are engaged.

TV Insider had described Jasmine and Matt as still together in May 2026. The July coverage referred to Matt as Jasmine’s boyfriend and the father of her daughter, Matilda. Those reports establish what outlets reported at those times, not the couple’s relationship status as of October 2026.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Why did the photos look like an engagement announcement?
The staged, one-knee pose and ring box invited that interpretation, but the carousel’s final slide supplied the actual explanation. The distinction matters: the documented “yes” was to adopting a Chihuahua, not to marrying Matt.
