Shows for practical organizing and decluttering
Get Organized with The Home Edit
For a visually satisfying reset, Clea Shearer and Joanna Teplin take on clients’ organizational challenges with their signature rainbow-coded approach. It is a strong pick if seeing a space sorted into clear categories motivates you. The look is the point, though, and a color-coded system may be less practical in a compact pantry or home. Netflix lists two seasons and 2020 for the series in its spring-cleaning guide.
Tidying Up with Marie Kondo
This is the gentler, family-centered choice. Marie Kondo helps real families organize their homes using the KonMari method, framing the work as a positive process rather than a punishing purge. Netflix lists eight episodes and 2019 in its guide. Choose it for encouragement and a method to consider, not as a promise that every home or family will follow one formula.
Shows where the home makeover is part of a bigger story
Queer Eye
If you want design alongside other kinds of personal change, Queer Eye is the broadest makeover pick here. Netflix’s guide identifies Bobby Berk as the design expert in seasons 1–8 and Jeremiah Brent in season 9, and points to practical “Hip Tips” along the way. Netflix lists ten seasons and 2018 for the series. The home work is one part of the show’s wider transformation format, rather than a dedicated decluttering program.

Syd and Shea McGee of Studio McGee take on home projects while the series also follows their work and family lives. This is the choice for polished interior-design transformations, not a show primarily about sorting possessions. Netflix lists four seasons and 2020 in its roundup.
Ideas for smaller spaces and owning less
Tiny House Nation
For design inspiration focused on using space efficiently, Tiny House Nation follows families building homes under 500 square feet with experts John Weisbarth and Zack Giffin. Its compact-home projects can prompt ideas about what a home needs to do, even if you are not planning a tiny house. Netflix lists two volumes and 2019 in its guide.

The Minimalists: Less Is Now
This 53-minute documentary follows longtime friends Joshua Fields Millburn and Ryan Nicodemus as they consider owning less and questioning what they need. At 53 minutes, it offers a single-sitting alternative to a multi-episode makeover series. Netflix lists the film as 2021 in its catalog guide.
For reflective downsizing or an intense cleanout
The Gentle Art of Swedish Death Cleaning
A different, more life-stage-oriented option, this 2023 Peacock series is narrated by Amy Poehler and features Swedish decluttering experts helping American participants work through possessions and life changes, according to Hoarding Guide. Its focus makes it a better fit for reflective downsizing than a quick room-by-room organizing fix. Peacock availability should be checked in your region.
Rank #3

- Durable for Indoors & Outdoors: Built from sturdy, solid plastic that withstands frequent use in the garage, utility room, closet, or office without cracking or warping.
- Lightweight Stackable Design: Features a lightweight build with stackable functionality. Stack multiple bins to maximize vertical space and keep storage areas neat and efficient.
- Comfortable Soft-Grip Handles: Ergonomically designed handles make it easy to move your container from room to room with minimal effort.
- Functional Storage: Not only practical, the lidded containers offer a unique modern look that enhances your home décor while serving all your everyday storage needs.
Hoarders
Hoarders uses a more intense cleanout and intervention format. It may interest viewers looking for high-stakes television, but it should not be treated as a guide to mental health or as a picture of ordinary mess. Hoarding Guide cautions that sensational framing can stigmatize people; approach the series with that limitation in mind.
