What horror movies are coming out in 2026? For U.S. audiences, five films scheduled from October through Christmas offer very different kinds of scares: haunted-home dread, body horror, period-killer suspense, zombie comedy and a medieval monster story. Other Mommy — October 9
A young girl forms a relationship with a sinister presence in her home that pretends to be her mother. Directed by Rob Savage and featuring Jessica Chastain, the film’s premise puts childhood fear and the violation of domestic safety at its center.
Clayface — October 23
This comic-book entry brings body-horror potential to the superhero genre. Actor Matt Hagen is disfigured, undergoes an experimental procedure and gains the ability to reshape his body. It is the list’s most overt genre crossover, rather than a straightforward horror film for every viewer.
Victorian Psycho — November 13
Maika Monroe stars as a young governess who is also a serial killer. Its period setting and killer-centered premise point toward suspense and psychological unease rather than supernatural scares.

Return of the Living Dead — November 13
A new zombie-comedy outing in the franchise, this film is described as taking place directly after the original. It is the pick for viewers drawn to undead mayhem, comedy and franchise nostalgia.
Werwulf — December 25
Focus Features lists the film as horror and schedules it for Christmas Day. Robert Eggers directs a story described in the release guide as set in a 13th-century English village stalked by a monster; the cast includes Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Lily-Rose Depp, Willem Dafoe and Ralph Ineson. Focus Features calls it “a harrowing tale of devotion, damnation and the devil within.”
