Its theme park employees are called Cast Members, and public guidance covers appearance, safety and some role-specific requirements. Scheduling, attendance, discipline and other program rules are covered in handbooks available through employee systems, so the details can vary by program, park and job.
What “Disney rules” means for Cast Members
Disney uses “Cast Member” for its theme park employees. The company’s public careers page describes the Disney Look as inclusive appearance guidance for both costumed and non-costumed roles, with an emphasis on a clean, polished and approachable presentation. It says the guidelines align with the brand while empowering Cast Members to be themselves (Disney Careers: Disney Look).
The public material supports examples of expectations, not a definitive set of 25 rules. Some guidance is broadly described; other requirements are specific to a job or program. The complete current rules are not all publicly available: Disney Programs Support directs participants to the Participant Handbook in Disney Cast Life and DORMS.
Appearance: the Disney Look and job-specific guidance
1. Follow the Disney Look for your role
Disney presents the Disney Look as appearance guidance for costumed and non-costumed Cast Members. Its public description sets a broad standard rather than spelling out every grooming or uniform requirement for every position.

2. Meet the published tattoo size limit where it applies
Disney Programs Support states that tattoos must be no larger than a Cast Member’s hand when fully extended, with the fingers held together. This is the wording on its Disney Look page; readers should not assume it establishes every tattoo-related requirement for every Disney park position or program (Disney Programs Support: Disney Look).
3. Check food-service nail and jewelry requirements
Disney Programs Support identifies a Nail and Jewelry Policy for Cast Members preparing or serving food and beverage. The public page does not provide the policy’s detailed limits, so those should be confirmed through the applicable workplace guidance rather than inferred.
Safety: training and equipment depend on the work
4. Take safety seriously as part of the job
Disneyland describes employee safety resources and training, including body mechanics and physical techniques. The Walt Disney Company also says safety professionals help identify workplace risks. These public descriptions show that safety is an explicit part of employee support, but they do not set out one universal numbered safety code for every Cast Member (Disneyland Resort: Cast Member Safety; The Walt Disney Company: Investing in Our People).
5. Use the required safety shoes in specified Walt Disney World roles
Disney Programs Support says Walt Disney World Cast Members in Culinary, Custodial, Food & Beverage, Lifeguard and Recreation lines of business are provided company-issued, slip-resistant safety shoes. This is a role-specific example of supplied equipment, not a general requirement for every park employee to buy or wear a particular shoe (Disney Programs Support: Disney Look).

Scheduling, attendance and conduct: consult the handbook
6. Follow the applicable call-in and scheduling procedures
Disney Programs Support lists shift call-in and scheduling among the subjects covered in the Participant Handbook. The public support article explains how participants can access that handbook through Disney Cast Life and DORMS; it does not publish the detailed procedures. The right steps therefore depend on the applicable program and handbook (Disney Programs Support: Where can I find my Participant Handbook?).
7. Follow the attendance and disciplinary rules that apply to your program
The same support page lists attendance and disciplinary procedures as handbook subjects. It does not disclose their full terms, so claims about specific point systems, penalties or exceptions cannot be established from that public page.

Walt Disney World’s public Property Rules, Policies & Regulations page sets expectations for visitors and governs access to resort property. For example, a restriction on guests entering backstage areas is a visitor/property rule; it is not evidence of an employee policy. Keep guest rules separate from workplace instructions (Walt Disney World: Property Rules, Policies & Regulations).

How to verify a specific rule
- Identify the scope. Check whether the guidance names a particular park, program, job or activity, rather than assuming it applies to all Disney employees.
- Use the public source for what it actually says. Disney Careers describes the broad Disney Look; Disney Programs Support gives selected examples such as the tattoo size guidance and specified shoe provision.
- Use employee systems for the full policy. Disney Programs Support says participants can find the Participant Handbook in Disney Cast Life and DORMS. Consult the current handbook and applicable workplace instructions for scheduling, attendance, discipline and other detailed requirements.
These public sources establish several concrete expectations, but they do not substantiate a complete list of 25 universal rules. No named, dated workforce statistic is needed to describe the published guidance.
