What the Grammy category recognizes
The official category name is Best Score Soundtrack for Video Games and Other Interactive Media. The Recording Academy says it recognizes “excellence in score soundtrack albums comprised predominantly of original scores created specifically for a video game or other interactive media.” It is a category for game and interactive-media scores, rather than the Grammy category for score soundtracks created for visual media.
