Contemporaneous reports said a 20-year-old man from Noida was arrested on October 29, 2024, in connection with a call and WhatsApp messages about MLA Zeeshan Siddique and actor Salman Khan. Police reportedly said the man claimed he had information about a plan to harm them and hoped to obtain money for it; police characterized the threat information as false. The reports describe allegations and an arrest, not proof of a real plot or a court finding.
Who was arrested?

Hindustan Times reported that police said eight WhatsApp messages were sent. That number is a detail attributed to the police account in the report.
What did the man reportedly claim?
According to police as reported by The Times of India, the man said he had overheard people discussing a plan to kill Siddique and Salman Khan, then hoped to make money by offering information. The paper quoted police as saying: “He did not demand the money, but his intention was gradually to mint money. The threat he mentioned turned out to be fake.” The report did not identify the speaker by name.
Hindustan Times reported a more specific alleged claim: that people connected with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang planned to target Siddique and attack Khan using a drone. This was described as the suspect’s claim relayed by police; the contemporaneous reports cited here do not independently corroborate it.
Was there a real threat or confirmed plot?
Police were reported to have called the threat information false. That does not establish that a plan to attack either man existed. The accounts describe a suspect’s allegation and the police characterization of it, not independent confirmation of an assassination plan.
