What happened to Taylor Momsen, who played Cindy Lou Who?
After the film, Momsen played Jenny Humphrey on Gossip Girl from 2007 to 2012, then shifted her focus toward music as the lead singer of The Pretty Reckless. That is a change in emphasis, not a claim that she never acted again.

EntertainmentNow reported that the band released The Pretty Reckless Christmas, an EP revisiting “Where Are You Christmas?,” in October 2025. The song connects her later musical career directly back to the film.

Did Jim Carrey and Taylor Momsen reunite?
Yes. CinemaBlend reported that Carrey and Momsen reunited at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction on November 9, 2025, 25 years after filming the movie. Recalling their time together, Momsen told People, as quoted by CinemaBlend: “I have a lot. I just love that he was very protective of me. He was always very kind. And just the entire experience of filming Grinch and getting to know him so well, even in all the makeup, was just wonderful.”
She also recalled that watching Carrey work as a young person left a lasting impression, and said she was excited to tell him that as an adult. The reunion report is a recent connection between the two performers, not a full update on either person’s current projects.
