For New Year’s Eve in St. Louis on Thursday, Dec. 31, 2026, the clearest confirmed choices are Winterfest’s early-evening fireworks at Kiener Plaza and NYE Live! at Ballpark Village. A symphony celebration and a matinee of The Great Gatsby also appear on the city’s event calendar, but confirm those listings with the venues before making plans. Here are useful ways to build the night without mistaking unverified ideas for confirmed events.
What is there to do for New Year’s Eve in St. Louis?
There are confirmed options for different kinds of evenings, but not 18 distinct events currently established for Dec. 31, 2026. Which St. Louis New Year’s Eve plans are confirmed for 2026?
1. See Winterfest’s Neon Nights fireworks at Kiener Plaza
Gateway Arch Park Foundation lists its family-friendly Neon Nights celebration for Thursday, Dec. 31, from 4 to 8 p.m., with fireworks at 8 p.m. The schedule includes character visits from 4 to 6 p.m., a DJ from 4 to 8 p.m., The Dirty Muggz concert from 6 to 8 p.m., and fire dancers from 6 to 8 p.m. Party decorations, 3-D glasses and glow products are offered while supplies last. Check the Winterfest event listing for updates.
This is an early countdown, not a midnight fireworks show. It suits families or anyone who wants a festive outdoor event and an earlier finish.

2. Celebrate at NYE Live! in Ballpark Village
Ballpark Village lists NYE Live! for Dec. 31, 2026. AXS describes five parties at one destination, photo opportunities, party favors, VIP experiences, all-inclusive drink packages, a midnight champagne toast, and a New York-style ball drop with confetti. Alcohol service requires guests to be 21 or older and age verification, according to the ticket listing. Check the Ballpark Village events calendar and AXS event page for current entry-age rules, doors, package details, prices and ticket availability.
What performances are listed for New Year’s Eve?
3. Consider the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra
Explore St. Louis’s Dec. 31 calendar lists a New Year’s Eve Celebration at Powell Symphony Hall at 7:30 p.m. The listing does not establish the program or ticket details, so confirm both with the calendar listing and the Orchestra before booking.
4. See The Great Gatsby at the Fabulous Fox
The same calendar lists a 1 p.m. Dec. 31 matinee of The Great Gatsby at the Fabulous Fox. Verify the showtime and ticket availability with the theater; a destination-calendar entry alone is not venue-level confirmation. The matinee could also pair with a separate evening plan.
What can you do with the day before the countdown?
5. Visit the Saint Louis Art Museum
Explore St. Louis’s calendar includes a Dec. 31 listing for the Saint Louis Art Museum, with hours shown as 10 a.m.–5 p.m. Because holiday hours and access can change, check directly with the museum before arranging your day around the listing.

6. See the Missouri History Museum and the 1904 World’s Fair exhibit
The calendar also lists the Missouri History Museum from 10 a.m.–8 p.m., including the 1904 World’s Fair exhibit. Confirm both holiday hours and exhibit access with the museum. The destination calendar’s date labeling is inconsistent, so treat its museum entries as leads to verify, not a substitute for the museums’ own schedules.
How can you extend a Winterfest visit?
7. Skate outdoors at Kiener Plaza
Winterfest’s seasonal listing includes outdoor ice skating at Kiener Plaza from Nov. 21, 2026, through Jan. 3, 2027. Its regular schedule is Thursdays and Fridays from 4 to 8 p.m. and weekends from noon to 8 p.m.; check for holiday-specific hours and any reservation requirements before going on New Year’s Eve.
8. Make time for s’mores, food and heated igloos
The Winterfest listing also names s’mores stations, food and drink, heated igloos and other family programming. These seasonal activities can round out an early-evening visit, but the listing does not establish which will operate on Dec. 31 or whether reservations are needed. Check the organizer’s current details.

9. Look for a 2026 jazz performance
Jazz St. Louis appeared in Explore St. Louis’s roundup for ringing in 2026, but that prior-year article does not establish a Dec. 31, 2026 performance. Check the venue’s own calendar for a current listing before treating it as a plan.

These venues appeared in the prior-year roundup, not as verified 2026 events. Look for a current announcement from the venue before considering either for this New Year’s Eve.
11. See whether Molly’s in Soulard is hosting
Molly’s was another venue in the roundup for the previous New Year’s Eve. Its inclusion does not confirm a 2026 party; verify directly with the venue.
12. Check for a party at None of the Above
None of the Above also appeared in the prior-year roundup. Confirm a current date, entry policy and ticket details with the venue before making plans.
13. Build a dinner-and-event evening
A meal before a show or party can make the evening easier to pace. Choose a restaurant only after checking its Dec. 31 hours and reservation availability; ordinary operating hours should not be assumed to apply on the holiday.
14. Plan an early family countdown
Winterfest’s 8 p.m. fireworks provide the confirmed early-evening countdown in this guide. If your group wants to be home before midnight, center the outing on the Kiener Plaza schedule rather than expecting a midnight display.
15. Choose an indoor evening
Ballpark Village’s party is the clearest listed indoor celebration. The symphony is another possible indoor plan, subject to confirmation with the Orchestra. Check each organizer’s current ticketing and entry information before traveling.
16. Make it a matinee-plus-evening outing
If the Fabulous Fox confirms its calendar-listed 1 p.m. matinee, it could be combined with a separate dinner or evening event. Leave enough time between venues, and verify the performance and any transit or parking plans independently.
17. Keep the plan flexible around holiday hours
Museums and seasonal activities can have special schedules on Dec. 31. Confirm opening hours, exhibit access, skating operations and reservations with the relevant venue or organizer on the day you plan to visit.

Listings and ticket inventory can change as the date approaches. Use the organizer or venue page for final times, admission rules, prices and availability. Explore St. Louis’s 2025 New Year’s Eve roundup is useful for seeing what kinds of local events have appeared in a previous year, but it is not evidence that those events return in 2026.
