For travelers drawn to the places associated with luxury and celebrity, the choices range from yacht harbors and beach clubs to ski slopes, wellness retreats, and food-focused city stays. This is a curated list, not a single authoritative ranking: the first 10 destinations were named in a Casino News study reported by Travel + Leisure on June 8, 2026; the final five are editorial selections described by Chase Travel on July 31, 2025.

What this list does—and does not—show

The study-reported top 10 offers one snapshot of destinations associated with celebrity vacations; it is not proof that celebrities generally visit them, nor a guarantee of privacy or celebrity sightings. Chase Travel provides destination coverage, not a measured ranking, for the five additions below. The evidence therefore varies: some entries have a study-attributed rank or hotel-price estimate, while others are included for their luxury travel character and range of experiences.

That distinction matters because affluent travel is not synonymous with celebrity travel. Visa Business and Economic Insights reported that affluent households—defined in its analysis as earning more than US$200,000 annually—accounted for as much as one in every four dollars spent on travel globally. The 2025 analysis used VisaNet transactions and international travel estimates, with data last actual in 2024; it describes affluent travelers, not celebrity behavior. Visa’s methodology and findings.

The 10 destinations in the reported study

1. Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

Travel + Leisure reports that the Casino News study placed Cabo San Lucas first and cited celebrity sightings over the years. It also reported an average of about $400 a night for five-star hotels in the study. That is an approximate study figure, not a live rate or a quote for specific dates.

2. Palma de Mallorca, Spain

Ranked second, Palma is described as a more understated luxury choice, with estates, coves, marinas, and resorts. The study report says high-end stays can approach $1,000 a night during peak season; that seasonal estimate should not be read as a typical year-round price.

3. Mykonos, Greece

Ranked third, Mykonos is known in the coverage for beach clubs and nightlife. Chase Travel also points to yacht excursions and quieter hotel options, giving visitors alternatives to the island’s social scene.

4. Grace Bay, Turks and Caicos

Ranked fourth, Grace Bay is associated in the report with privacy. That is a characterization, not a promise of seclusion: the level of privacy depends on where you stay and when you visit.

5. Tulum, Mexico

The study placed Tulum fifth and described it as a relatively affordable luxury beach destination within its comparison. Travel + Leisure reported average five-star hotel rates around $240 a night. This is an approximate study-reported average, not a current booking quote.

6. Aspen, Colorado

Ranked sixth and described as one of the study’s costliest celebrity escapes, Aspen offers sharply different trips by season. Chase Travel highlights winter skiing and après-ski, while summer brings hiking near Maroon Bells.

7. Nice, France

Nice ranked seventh in the reported study. The available coverage establishes its place in that list but does not provide a comparable hotel-price estimate or a detailed celebrity-specific itinerary.

8. Punta Cana, Dominican Republic

Punta Cana ranked eighth. The study report does not provide a comparable price or enough detail to support a more specific claim about celebrity visits there.

9. Lake Como, Italy

Ranked ninth, Lake Como is associated with high-end hotels and lakeside stays. The study report puts luxury hotel averages above $1,600 a night. Treat that as an approximate study figure, not a rate for a particular property or travel date.

10. Ibiza, Spain

Ibiza ranked tenth. Beyond beach clubs and international DJ nightlife, Chase Travel describes wellness retreats and resort stays, making it possible to plan a trip around relaxation as well as late nights.

Five more luxury destinations to consider

These five destinations are Chase Travel editorial picks, not additional positions in the study ranking.

Saint-Tropez, France

A yacht-filled harbor, high-end hotels, designer shopping, and beach clubs shape Saint-Tropez’s luxury reputation. Chase Travel links that image to the 1960s jet set; the town’s appeal today includes both its waterfront and its resort scene.

Bodrum, Turkey

Bodrum combines beach and nightlife with luxury hotels and cultural sights. Visitors can pair time around Yalıkavak Marina with a visit to Bodrum Castle, making it a Turkish Riviera option that is not limited to resort life.

Porto Ercole, Italy

For a lower-profile Tuscan coastal stay, Chase Travel points to Porto Ercole’s beaches, harbor, and summer yachts, as well as its proximity to Rome. Its quieter profile is a reason to consider it, not evidence that it is broadly a celebrity favorite.

Oaxaca, Mexico

Oaxaca offers a different kind of luxury trip: one centered on heritage, food, art, galleries, and hotels rather than beach clubs or yacht culture. It suits travelers who want local culture and dining to anchor the stay.

Phuket, Thailand

Phuket spans busy nightlife and quieter resort areas. Chase Travel describes beaches, night markets, nightlife, and luxury resorts, noting that calmer coastal options extend beyond Patong; the island does not have one uniform atmosphere.

How to choose the right destination

  • Start with the trip you want. For beaches and nightlife, consider Mykonos, Ibiza, Saint-Tropez, or Bodrum. For skiing or summer hiking, Aspen offers a clear seasonal contrast. Oaxaca emphasizes food and culture; Ibiza also has wellness retreats.
  • Decide how social or secluded you want the stay to feel. Beach clubs and nightlife are prominent in Mykonos and Ibiza. Grace Bay is characterized as private in the study report, while Palma and Porto Ercole offer a more understated or lower-profile angle in the available coverage. None of those descriptions guarantees solitude.
  • Plan around the season. Aspen’s winter and summer activities differ, and Palma’s reported high-end lodging figure specifically concerns peak season. The study’s approximate hotel figures are not year-round rates or directly comparable quotes for the same dates and hotel class.
  • Use the price evidence cautiously. The reported estimates cover only some destinations and are not based on a common, independently presented price comparison across all 15. Check lodging prices for your dates, property type, and location before setting a budget.
  • Choose the experience, not the celebrity label. Celebrity association varies from study-attributed sightings and rankings to editorial descriptions. The sources do not establish that any destination reliably delivers celebrity encounters or freedom from paparazzi.

Sources and scope

The first 10 places and the study-attributed ranking and hotel-price estimates are reported by Travel + Leisure, June 8, 2026, which reports on a Casino News study. The five additional destination descriptions come from Chase Travel, July 31, 2025. Neither source supports treating this combined selection as one audited ranking.
