The list below ranks Japanese manga series by reported totals for collected volumes—not magazine circulation—but the figures are not a uniform tally of paid purchases: sources variously report copies sold, in circulation, or in print.
How to read this ranking
The order and volume counts below come from the dynamic “List of best-selling manga” compilation inspected October 7, 2026. Its figures are reported totals for collected tankōbon volumes; the list excludes the circulation of magazines in which chapters first appeared, as well as other Asian and English-original comics. Some totals include digital copies. Because “sold,” “in circulation,” and “in print” describe different measures, treat this as a dated ranking of reported milestones, not an apples-to-apples audit of consumer purchases. The compilation notes that ties may be ordered alphabetically.
For a few titles, separate publisher or news reports provide a specific date and metric; those are identified below. For the remaining entries, the total and volume count are attributed to the compilation, and a more specific report date or digital-inclusion status is not stated there.

What the leading totals show
One Piece is far ahead in the compiled list
The 600-million milestone for One Piece was reported by Anime News Network on March 3, 2026, with the total described as copies worldwide. The compilation classifies it as circulation/print and marks digital inclusion. That makes it the clear leader in this particular collected-volume ranking, while still not making the number a verified count of individual paid purchases.

Doraemon and Golgo 13 share the 300-million mark
The ranking lists both series at 300 million. Shogakukan’s August 2024 Doraemon work overview gives the same total, while Comic Natalie reported Golgo 13 at 300 million copies in circulation in March 2021. The different volume counts—45 for Doraemon and 221 for Golgo 13—and the different report dates are important context; the tie in reported totals does not imply equal per-volume sales.
Dragon Ball has a specifically reported sales figure
Toei Animation described Dragon Ball as having sold 260 million copies worldwide in its June 15, 2022 announcement. That wording is more specific than the circulation/print label attached to many other entries, so it should not be treated as the same accounting measure as every figure around it.

Why volume count and measurement matter
The table combines long-running series with shorter completed runs. A total accumulated across 221 volumes, for example, is not directly comparable with one accumulated across 23 or 30 volumes as a measure of average copies per volume. Dividing a reported total by the listed volume count would create a rough arithmetic average, not a reliable measure of readership or sales per book: dates differ, digital may be included, and the underlying totals may describe circulation rather than confirmed sell-through.
For that reason, the most defensible reading is the reported overall scale and order in the compilation, with each metric and date kept attached to its title. The ranking does not establish that every copy was purchased by a unique reader, nor that totals were counted using one shared method.
