Before buying a Fright Fest ticket, choose the Six Flags park and visit date: the event calendar, ticket inclusions, maze access and guest rules vary by location. A ticket may cover park admission, haunted mazes, or both, so check the exact product and selected-night terms before checkout.
1. Choose the park and date first
Fright Fest is not one identical event with a single calendar. The official 2026 pages list select-night windows that differ by park:
- Six Flags Magic Mountain: September 18–November 1.
- Six Flags Great America: September 19–November 1.
- Six Flags Over Georgia: September 12–November 1.
- Six Flags Great Adventure: September 18–November 1.
These are event windows, not confirmation that Fright Fest runs every night within them. Check the selected park’s operating calendar and the date picker at checkout before making plans.
2. Check whether your ticket includes park admission
Do not assume a haunted-attractions or maze pass gets you into the park. Great America says its date-specific Haunted Attractions Pass does not include park admission; the park separately lists a bundle that combines one-day admission with maze access. Magic Mountain and Great Adventure also list admission-and-maze bundles alongside separate maze-pass options.

Magic Mountain says all guests, regardless of age, need their own paid admission ticket or valid pass. Confirm that every person in your party has the required park admission as well as any desired maze access.
3. Compare what each ticket actually covers
Use the product details—not just the ticket name—to compare options. The important distinctions are whether admission is included, which mazes are covered, whether access is for one chosen night or the season, and whether any upgrade is separate.

4. Treat Express as a possible extra
Magic Mountain and Great America list an Express upgrade. The reviewed listings do not establish that Express is included in every bundle or offered at every park. Check the selected ticket’s terms and the checkout options rather than counting on it.

5. Read the age guidance for your park and visit time
Magic Mountain and Great Adventure say Fright Fest is not recommended for children under 13. Great America’s guidance applies to children younger than 13 after 6 p.m. These are venue-specific recommendations, not a universal age restriction, so read the exact park’s event page when deciding whether it suits your group.

Rules differ by venue and can affect admission. Great America prohibits full-face masks, costumes and full-face makeup for guests over 12, and says violations can have admission consequences. Over Georgia prohibits costumes, costume masks, special-effects makeup, face coverings and attire intended to conceal identity. Review the park’s current policy before dressing for the event.

7. Consider sensory effects and possible changes
Great America warns that shows, midways and attractions may include strobe lighting, latex, fog and loud noises. It also says weather or other circumstances may cause attractions to be canceled, delayed or changed without notice. If those effects matter to anyone in your group, read the event page and plan with the possibility that the night’s offerings could change.
8. Confirm re-entry rules before leaving
Re-entry policies are park-specific. Over Georgia’s current event policy says re-entry is not permitted after 7 p.m. and describes wristband requirements earlier in the evening. Magic Mountain says re-entry is not permitted after 9 p.m. Check the exact park’s policy before stepping outside or making plans that require leaving and returning.
9. Use the app and event page for that night’s schedule
Magic Mountain and Great Adventure direct visitors to the Six Flags app for showtimes and entertainment details. Magic Mountain notes that showtimes may change without notice. Check the app and park event page close to your visit for the latest schedule rather than relying on an old listing.
10. Recheck the details before checkout and departure
Because event calendars, ticket products, prices and operating rules are tied to a particular park and date, verify the details twice: when buying and again before you go. Confirm the selected date, admission and maze inclusions, any taxes or fees shown at checkout, and the park’s current policies and schedule.
