Start with Yellowstone for land and family power, Tulsa King for contemporary crime, or 1883 for a frontier story. Paramount+ describes Landman as a drama set amid West Texas oil-boom life, where roughnecks and oil interests share a volatile landscape (Paramount+; Paramount Global Content).
How to choose a show after Landman
Landman brings together oil-field labor, corporate wealth, and boomtown life. The shows below split along different lines: some share Sheridan’s regional power struggles, some move into frontier history, and others offer a more distant match in setting or tone. Pick by the part of the series you want more of rather than expecting all ten to feel alike.

- Land, family, and regional power: Yellowstone.
- Contemporary crime and local power: Tulsa King or Mayor of Kingstown.
- Frontier and Western history: 1883, 1923, Lawmen: Bass Reeves, or American Primeval.
- A grounded Western-adjacent character drama: Joe Pickett.
- A looser tonal change: The Lowdown.
Paramount+ has also recommended several Sheridan-associated series to Landman viewers, including Tulsa King, Mayor of Kingstown, 1883, 1923, and Lawmen: Bass Reeves (Paramount+). The other titles here are adjacent viewing choices, not claims that they share the same premise.
For more Sheridan-style regional power struggles
1. Yellowstone
Choose Yellowstone if the land, family, and regional influence in Landman interest you more than the oil business itself. It shifts the focus to a family’s fight to hold onto its ranch and the power and conflict surrounding that land. The setting and story differ from Landman, but the collision of local interests and wealth makes it a natural next stop.
#1 Best Overall
Availability: Paramount support says Yellowstone is not available on Paramount+, despite the service carrying related programming. Check current rights in your region rather than assuming it is included with Paramount+ (Paramount support).
2. Tulsa King
Tulsa King trades oil fields for contemporary crime and local power. It is a better fit if you want a Sheridan-associated series with a modern setting and a crime-story engine than if you are looking for another boomtown drama about energy work.
Rank #2
- Landman
3. Mayor of Kingstown
Mayor of Kingstown also moves away from the oil industry, centering instead on crime and the systems of power in a town shaped by incarceration. It suits viewers drawn to the institutions and unequal influence around Landman, though its world is markedly different from West Texas.
For frontier and Western stories
4. 1883
1883 is the clearest choice if you want a historical Western rather than another present-day drama. It follows a journey across the frontier, replacing Landman’s oil-boom economy with a story shaped by travel, hardship, and the settling of the West.
Rank #3
- Factory sealed DVD
5. 1923
Set in another historical period, 1923 brings family and land into a changing Western. Try it if the regional stakes in Landman appeal to you, but you would rather follow those pressures in a period drama than in a modern oil town.
6. Lawmen: Bass Reeves
Lawmen: Bass Reeves is a historical Western centered on law and frontier life. It shares a Western lineage with Sheridan’s other work, but its subject and period set it apart from Landman’s contemporary mix of oil-field labor and business interests.
Rank #4
7. American Primeval
American Primeval is an adjacent pick for viewers who want a rugged frontier story. It is not a close match for Landman’s oil-field setting or modern power struggles; consider it when the Western atmosphere matters more than the contemporary drama.

8. Joe Pickett
Joe Pickett is a grounded, Western-adjacent character drama. Its appeal is a rural setting and character-driven conflict, not the specific collision of corporate wealth and oil-field labor that defines Landman.
Best Value
- COMPLETE SERIES COLLECTION: Includes all episodes from both Season 1 and Season 2 of Landman.
- BINGE-WORTHY DRAMA: Enjoy hours of compelling storytelling with the full two-season arc in one set.
- SEASONS 1 & 2: Get every episode from the beginning through the latest season in a single collection.
- GREAT FOR FANS: The perfect way to own and revisit the complete Landman series from start to finish.
- IDEAL GIFT: A must-have collection for fans of the show looking to own the full series.
9. The Lowdown
The Lowdown is a looser tonal cousin rather than a direct match. Choose it if you want a change of pace while staying near stories of regional identity and local lives; do not expect another oil-business drama.
One more way to narrow the list
If none of those matches the part of Landman you most enjoyed, use this distinction: pick Yellowstone for land and family, Tulsa King or Mayor of Kingstown for modern crime and power, and 1883 or 1923 for a historical Western. The remaining choices offer a more distinct shift in subject or tone.
Where to watch these shows
Paramount+ says all Landman episodes stream on its service and promotes several related shows there (Landman on Paramount+; Paramount+ recommendations). That does not establish that every recommendation is available there in every country, and Yellowstone is specifically excluded from Paramount+ according to its support page. Streaming catalogs change by title and region, so check your local service listings before subscribing or renting.
