This editorial ranking weighs longevity and reach after Disney, independently recognized awards, measurable screen or music achievements, career breadth, and the scale of each star’s Disney work. The order is a considered comparison, not an official industry verdict.
How this ranking measures success
A hit Disney role can be a launching pad, but it does not by itself establish a lasting career. The clearest comparisons consider what performers achieved afterward as well as the reach of their original work. Awards and chart positions offer useful evidence, but they do not capture every kind of success; episode audiences, album sales and acting credits are not interchangeable units.
With those limits in mind, the list gives particular weight to sustained post-Disney careers and independently documented accomplishments, while recognizing that some stars built their strongest records in music and others in acting or across several fields. It avoids net-worth estimates, which are not a reliable basis for ranking these performers.
The 10 most successful Disney Channel stars
1. Miley Cyrus
Cyrus has the strongest combination of Disney-era reach and later, independently recognized music success in this group. Hannah Montana premiered on March 24, 2006, to what D23 describes as the largest audience ever for a Disney Channel Original Series at the time. The series averaged 4.4 million viewers per episode, and a 2007 episode drew 10.7 million total viewers, which D23 called the highest-rated basic-cable series telecast at that time. The franchise also generated two double-platinum soundtracks, a No. 1 box-office movie, a concert tour and a concert film that D23 described as the top concert film at that point. D23’s Miley Cyrus profile supplies those historical figures.

Her career did not remain tied to the character. D23 reports that “Flowers” debuted at No. 1 in 2023 and that Cyrus won Record of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance at the 2024 Grammys. At age 31, she became the youngest Disney Legend honoree, according to D23. The franchise also continues to attract viewers: in a March 19, 2026 article, D23 reported that the Hannah Montana catalog had accumulated more than half a billion hours streamed globally on Disney+ to that date. That is a platform total reported in that article, not an ongoing lifetime figure. D23’s 2026 article identifies a Disney+ collection with all four seasons, the concert film and the movie; availability may vary by region.
2. Zendaya
Zendaya stands out for building a prominent screen career after her Disney Channel work. She appeared in Shake It Up and later led K.C. Undercover, then moved into major film and television roles. Her path illustrates why a ranking based only on music sales or Disney-era ratings would miss important forms of success. A January 2026 uDiscover retrospective includes her among Disney Channel stars who moved into pop music and describes her subsequent film and television work; it is useful career context, not a neutral ranking.

3. Jonas Brothers
The Jonas Brothers’ success should be understood as a group achievement, not divided among the three brothers as if each had identical individual totals. D23 reports that the group has sold more than 20 million albums, earned 26 Billboard Hot 100 hits, reached three consecutive No. 1 debuts on the Billboard 200 and generated billions of streams. Their Disney association included the Camp Rock films: the first premiered to more than 10 million viewers, while Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam drew 7.9 million viewers on its first broadcast in 2010. D23 also reports that the group’s 2019 single “Sucker” was certified 5x platinum and earned a Grammy nomination. These figures come from D23’s Jonas Brothers profile.
4. Selena Gomez
Gomez turned her starring role on Wizards of Waverly Place into a career spanning acting, music and producing. Her long-running visibility across those fields makes her one of the clearest examples of an alum whose success cannot be reduced to a single chart or franchise metric. The Recording Academy’s 2025 overview lists Gomez among former Disney-connected performers who have received Grammy nominations, while distinguishing her from the performers it identifies as winners. The article’s overall count includes alumni of The All-New Mickey Mouse Club, not just Disney Channel stars, so its collective total should not be mistaken for a channel-only statistic. The Recording Academy overview provides the award context.

5. Hilary Duff
For Duff, the breakthrough was Lizzie McGuire; the career that followed included further television acting and producing, as well as a successful transition into recording. Hulu Press describes her as the star of the series that launched her career in the public eye and documents her later television work. Her 2003 album Metamorphosis reached No. 2 on the Billboard 200, according to music publication uDiscover. Those different kinds of evidence—an enduring signature role, continued screen work and a major album-chart result—make her a strong all-around choice. Sources: Hulu Press and uDiscover Music.
6. Olivia Rodrigo
Rodrigo’s Disney Channel period included Bizaardvark, followed by a major music career beyond the network. The Recording Academy’s 2025 overview identifies her among Disney-connected alumni with Grammy wins. That recognition, alongside the scale of her post-Disney recording career, makes her one of the most consequential recent graduates of the Disney pipeline. The Academy’s tally covers a wider Disney-connected population, including former All-New Mickey Mouse Club performers, so it should not be read as a ranking of Disney Channel alumni.

7. Demi Lovato
Lovato’s Disney profile was anchored by Camp Rock and Sonny with a Chance, while a sustained recording career established a separate identity beyond those roles. The Recording Academy’s 2025 overview lists Lovato among Disney-connected artists who have received Grammy nominations. Her place here reflects the combination of screen recognition and continued music work rather than any single Disney-era audience figure.
8. Sabrina Carpenter
Carpenter began her Disney Channel association on Girl Meets World and later developed a recording career that brought Grammy recognition. The Recording Academy’s 2025 overview identifies her among the alumni it counts as Grammy winners. As with other performers on this list, the distinction is not simply that she started at Disney, but that her later work achieved recognition well beyond the channel.

9. Vanessa Hudgens
Hudgens became widely known through the High School Musical films and built a subsequent career in film, television and music. The franchise gave her a durable place in Disney Channel history, while later screen and stage projects extended her work beyond that original audience. uDiscover’s January 2026 retrospective includes her among the Disney Channel stars who pursued pop careers, although its selection is editorial rather than a comparative success measure.
10. Coco Jones
Jones connects a Disney-era screen career with later recognition as a recording artist. She appeared in the Disney Channel film Let It Shine, then built a music career that earned Grammy recognition. The Recording Academy’s 2025 overview names Jones among the Disney-connected alumni with Grammy wins. That makes her a notable example of how a performer’s later accomplishments can renew attention to an early Disney role.

The Recording Academy reported that the Disney-connected alumni population covered in its 2025 overview had earned 25 Grammy wins and 117 nominations since the 2000 Grammy Awards. The group includes former All-New Mickey Mouse Club performers, so those totals do not describe Disney Channel stars alone. The article identifies wins for Cyrus, Rodrigo, Carpenter and Jones, and nominations for Gomez, the Jonas Brothers and Lovato. It is an informative view of awards recognition, not a comprehensive scorecard for every Disney Channel alumnus.
The available evidence is strongest for particular kinds of achievement: D23 documents the historical reach of Hannah Montana and the Jonas Brothers’ group music and broadcast milestones; Hulu Press and uDiscover supply career context for Duff; and the Recording Academy records Grammy outcomes for selected Disney-connected alumni. Those sources do not produce one complete dataset covering every actor, singer, producer and franchise. The ranking therefore reflects the stated mix of reach, longevity, recognition and breadth—not a claim that one universally accepted measure has settled the question.
