007 First Light launched worldwide on May 27, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. That was a change from its original March 27 date. Nintendo Switch 2 was given a separate release window; a later report says that version moved to March 2027, but an official confirmation was not available in the sources reviewed.

Was 007 First Light delayed?

Yes. IO Interactive initially scheduled the game for March 27, 2026, then set May 27, 2026, as the launch date for its main platforms. The studio and Amazon MGM Studios subsequently announced its worldwide launch on May 27. IO Interactive’s launch announcement confirms that date.

The May 27 date is now a past release date, not an upcoming launch, for PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. IO Interactive’s May 21, 2026, launch-trailer announcement listed those platforms for May 27 and treated Switch 2 separately.

007 First Light release dates by platform

Platform Release timing What is confirmed
PlayStation 5 May 27, 2026 IO Interactive announced the date and later confirmed the worldwide launch.
Xbox Series X|S May 27, 2026 IO Interactive announced the date and later confirmed the worldwide launch.
PC May 27, 2026, in IO Interactive’s announcement IO Interactive confirmed the worldwide launch. Steam lists May 26, 2026; the reason for the one-day storefront difference is not established.
Nintendo Switch 2 Originally planned for summer 2026; later reported for March 2027 Summer 2026 was the studio’s announced window. The March 2027 timing appears in a later report, but an accessible official confirmation and exact date are not established.

What happened to the Switch 2 version?

When IO Interactive announced the May 27, 2026 launch for PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC, it said the Switch 2 version would follow in summer 2026. A September 2026 search result quoting a reported studio post says the Switch 2 edition was delayed to March 2027, with its exact day still to be announced. Because that report is not an accessible primary announcement, treat March 2027 as reported timing rather than a confirmed date. Check IO Interactive’s official site for an authoritative update.

Why does Steam show May 26?

Steam lists May 26, 2026, while IO Interactive identifies May 27 as the worldwide launch date. The sources available do not establish why the dates differ. Storefront timing, time zones or local unlock conventions could explain a one-day discrepancy, but none is confirmed here; it does not by itself show that the game was delayed a second time.
