Kevin Nash, Randy Savage and Konnan were the first members of the nWo Wolfpac, the splinter faction Nash formed after breaking with Hulk Hogan’s nWo in May 1998. Lex Luger and Sting joined soon after and became central to its identity. The remaining five names below had shorter or more disputed ties, so this is a ranking of early Wolfpac-associated figures—not ten founding members or ten equally established core members.

How this ranking works

The top five are the best-established early members. Their order reflects an editorial blend of faction leadership and story importance, star recognition, in-ring legacy, contribution to the Wolfpac’s identity, and clarity of affiliation. WWE’s histories establish the formation and early additions, but they do not publish an official member ranking. Positions six through ten cover names included in broader rosters whose Wolfpac connection was brief or depends on where the faction’s boundaries are drawn.

The five core early members

1. Kevin Nash

Nash ranks first because he led the breakaway and anchored its defining rivalry with Hogan’s group. WWE dates the Wolfpac’s emergence to May 4, 1998, describing Nash turning on Hogan and forming the splinter faction with Savage and Konnan. The group’s name and identity grew out of that split. Later that year, Nash defeated Goldberg at Starrcade 1998 to win the WCW World Heavyweight Championship and end Goldberg’s undefeated streak, according to WWE’s Kevin Nash profile. The title victory is part of Nash’s individual legacy as well as a major moment associated with the faction’s run.

2. Sting

Sting gave the Wolfpac one of its most recognizable visual changes. He joined with Luger after the original trio formed and adopted red face paint for the faction, replacing the familiar white look. WWE’s Sting profile also highlights his friendship with Luger, making their alliance a natural fit for the group’s presentation. Sting’s position here reflects his star power and distinctive contribution to the Wolfpac’s image, not a claim that he preceded the original three.

3. Randy Savage

Savage was part of the initial trio and therefore central to the faction’s origin. WWE’s account of the split names him alongside Nash and Konnan as one of the first Wolfpac members. His established stature made him a significant addition to Nash’s side of the feud. He ranks behind Nash and Sting here as an editorial judgment about leadership and the faction’s lasting visual identity, not because his founding role is in doubt.

4. Lex Luger

Luger joined soon after the original trio, alongside Sting. His friendship with Sting helped give the Wolfpac a clear alliance beyond Nash’s original breakaway, while his own name recognition added to the group’s star presence. WWE’s WCW history identifies Luger and Sting as additions who helped bring the group to its peak. His lower placement than the first three reflects his later arrival, not a lack of importance once the faction expanded.

5. Konnan

Konnan was one of the original three, alongside Nash and Savage. That founding status makes him more securely part of the early Wolfpac than any of the five names ranked below. He ranks fifth in this particular list because the framework weighs broad star recognition and the faction’s most prominent story and visual contributions as well as membership status; the placement is interpretive, not a historical measure of his value.

Five names with shorter or disputed associations

Broader nWo member lists also include figures whose Wolfpac affiliation was temporary, tied to shifting faction lines, or less clear than the core five. The order below treats those connections as a lower-confidence tier; it does not imply that these wrestlers were all stable members in the same way as Nash, Savage, Konnan, Luger and Sting.

6. Scott Hall

Hall’s connection is complicated by the faction split: he was a defining nWo figure and closely associated with Nash, but broad roster lists can blur the line between the original nWo and the Wolfpac. WWE’s nWo history discusses Hall in relation to Nash and the group’s story, but that broader context does not make Hall one of the original Wolfpac trio. He appears here only under the wider, association-based scope.

7. Curt Hennig

Hennig appears among the names attached to Wolfpac in broader roster references, but his connection was not as clear or durable as that of the core five. His place reflects the existence of that broader roster tradition, not an equivalent founding role.

8. Rick Rude

Rude is another name that appears in expanded member lists, where affiliations can depend on how a source treats temporary alignments and the factions’ changing boundaries. That makes him a possible Wolfpac-associated figure, not one of the best-established early members.

9. Dusty Rhodes

Rhodes is included in some wider rosters, but his place is similarly boundary-dependent. The available evidence supports treating him as a brief or disputed association rather than as a central part of the Wolfpac’s initial lineup.

10. Miss Elizabeth

Miss Elizabeth rounds out the list as a name found in broader nWo/Wolfpac roster references. Her inclusion depends on counting short-lived or faction-boundary associations; she was not part of the original trio identified in WWE’s account of the split.

Why “the first ten” is not a fixed historical lineup

WWE’s official histories give a clear account of the first five: Nash formed the Wolfpac with Savage and Konnan, and Luger and Sting joined soon after. The next five come from a broader roster tradition that does not establish an equally clear sequence of early membership. Because affiliations changed and lists draw the boundaries differently, the lower half is best read as a set of associated names rather than a definitive roster chronology.

For the origin in WWE’s own words, The History of WCW says Nash “turns his back on his former friend and starts a splinter faction with Randy Savage and Konnan known as The Wolfpac.” WWE presents this as historical narration; it is not a quotation from a wrestler.
