The announcement named Muriel Pearson as executive producer and David Sloan as senior executive producer. It also identified Stone, the filmmaker behind the 1991 film JFK, as an interview subject. ABC News Studios’ program announcement has the full description and production credits.
When did it air, and where can you watch it?
ABC scheduled the two-hour special for November 24, 2025, from 8:00 to 10:00 p.m. EST, with next-day streaming on Disney+ and Hulu. That was the announced schedule, not an upcoming premiere. Hulu’s catalog lists one 2025 episode under history and news and describes it as examining the assassination and the controversy behind decades of conspiracy theories. Catalog access can vary by location and change over time, so check the current listing for your region rather than assuming it is available.

What does the title’s question mean—and what does the documentary establish?
The question in the title signals the subject of the special; it does not, by itself, provide a new answer to who was responsible. ABC’s announcement says the program examines evidence, inconsistencies and newly released records. The available program description does not establish that the March 2025 records overturn prior findings, and a trailer or announcement should not be treated as proof of a disputed theory.

ABC News reported that Lee Harvey Oswald was arrested as the suspected killer. In the same report, ABC characterized Stone’s 1991 film JFK as a fictional retelling centered on New Orleans district attorney Jim Garrison’s investigation. That dramatized film and the later documentary special are distinct works. ABC also reported Stone’s view that delays in releasing records contributed to public distrust and conspiracy theories; that is an attributed interpretation, not a settled conclusion about the records or the assassination.
