Public evidence documents four celebrities with a World of Warcraft connection, but it does not verify ten current players. The examples below range from a celebrity’s own statement to an official Blizzard comment and a reported anecdote; each shows what is known—and what it does not establish about playing today.
Which celebrities have a documented World of Warcraft connection?
These examples are not a ranking. They are the names for whom the available public sources support a specific claim, with the evidence type and date made clear.
| Celebrity | What the evidence establishes | What it does not establish |
|---|---|---|
| Mila Kunis | In a Blizzard charity-pet announcement published July 25, 2023, Kunis described WoW as “the first gaming community I was ever a part of.” Blizzard’s announcement | The statement does not say she currently plays. |
| Felicia Day | In a 2009 BlizzCon interview, Day said, “I played the Worgen!” when asked about World of Warcraft: Cataclysm. BlizzCon interview | It confirms play at that time, not whether she plays now. |
| Robin Williams | In a 2014 Associated Press report republished by CBS News, Blizzard lead game designer Ion Hazzikostas said, “We knew he was an avid ‘WoW’ player, which was awesome.” CBS News report | This is a historical confirmation, not a statement about present-day play. |
| Henry Cavill | A 2016 Game Informer headline reported that Cavill missed a Superman-related call while playing WoW. Game Informer report | The available report supports only that dated anecdote; it does not establish whether he plays now. |
What do the different kinds of evidence mean?
First-person statements
Day’s interview is a direct statement about having played a particular game expansion. Kunis’s comment is direct evidence of a WoW community connection, but it is not the same as a statement that she played regularly or remains an active player.
Official and named-source confirmation
Hazzikostas’s comment, quoted by the Associated Press in 2014, is a named Blizzard developer’s confirmation of Williams as an avid player. That makes it stronger than an unattributed online list, while still describing the past.

- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
A reported anecdote
Cavill’s example rests on a 2016 headline about a missed call. It is a narrower claim than a first-person account or an explicit confirmation from Blizzard, so it should not be expanded into details the report does not establish.
Does Henry Cavill still play World of Warcraft?
The cited 2016 report says he missed a Superman-related call while playing WoW. It does not verify that he still plays, and the evidence here contains no newer first-person or official statement establishing current play.

Why are there only four examples instead of ten?
The available sources support these four examples, not a verified top ten. Other names circulate in forum lists, but without adequate attribution they cannot reliably establish that those people played WoW. A list that presents ten as confirmed players would overstate what the sources show.

A 2014 Associated Press report estimated that about 6.8 million people played WoW online at the time. That is a historical estimate from 2014, not a current player count. Associated Press report
