The album’s other credits include songwriters, engineers, mastering engineers and musicians, with performers and roles assigned track by track. Here’s the album’s release information and track list, plus a guide to what the available credit records establish.
Who produced The Life of a Showgirl?
Taylor Swift, Max Martin and Shellback are the album’s credited producers. The Associated Press reported the trio in its announcement coverage, and Universal Music Italia’s track-level listing credits them across the album’s tracks. Swift’s official album-version credits for “Opalite” also name all three as producers.
Production is a distinct role from songwriting, performance, recording, mixing and mastering. A producer credit does not by itself mean that someone wrote or performed on every song. Check the individual track entry for those assignments. (Associated Press; Universal Music Italia; Swift’s official “Opalite” credits)

What do the other credits cover?
Credit categories describe different work on a recording. Universal Music Italia’s listing assigns personnel by track, so names appearing on one song should not be read as album-wide performance credits.
- Songwriting: The people credited with writing a particular song. For “Opalite,” Swift, Martin and Shellback are credited as writers.
- Engineering and recording: Personnel involved in capturing or preparing the recording. Lasse Mårtén is credited as an engineer on “Opalite”; the label listing also includes him in engineering or recording roles on track entries.
- Mixing: The work of balancing the recorded elements into a finished mix. Serban Ghenea is credited for mixing “Opalite”; the label’s other track entries should be checked for song-specific assignments.
- Mastering: Final preparation of the audio release. Randy Merrill is credited with mastering “Opalite”; Randy Merrill and Ryan Smith appear in mastering credits across the label’s track entries.
- Performance: Instrumental and vocal contributions attached to specific songs, not automatically to the full album.
Universal Music Italia’s listing also names Bryce Bordone as an assistant mix engineer in track-level credits. For an individual song, consult its entry rather than assuming any of these roles apply uniformly across the album. (Universal Music Italia track credits)

Example: the album-version credits for “Opalite”
Swift’s official page provides a detailed example of how the roles break down on one song. It credits Swift, Martin and Shellback as writers and producers, with production at MXM Studios and Shellback Studios in Stockholm. Ghenea mixed the track, Mårtén engineered it, and Merrill mastered it.
The same page credits Shellback with drums, keys, guitar, bass, Omnichord, programming and percussion, and Martin with keys and programming. These are “Opalite” credits; they should not be generalized to the other songs without checking their entries. (Taylor Swift’s official “Opalite” album-version credits)
