The UDC assassination is already complete when the finale begins. The remaining conflict is about the Jackal’s escape and the damage his double life has done at home.

Nuria realizes that the family is not safe and leaves the villa with their son before the Jackal returns. Bianca and Vince track him to the property. After Alvaro is shot, the Jackal takes refuge in the vault, kills Vince, and then kills Bianca when she offers to help him find Nuria. Sky’s official finale explainer confirms Bianca is killed in action.
The Jackal gets away from the villa, but is hit by a car while trying to reach Nuria. The closing scene reveals that he survives: in Budapest, he meets Zina.

Does the Jackal find Nuria?
No reunion is shown. The Jackal says he needs to find his family, but the season ends before he reaches Nuria or their son. His search is his stated next priority; whether he succeeds remains unresolved.
The finale makes the cost of his work personal. Nuria’s departure shows that the Jackal can no longer keep his family life separate from the danger surrounding his jobs. Eddie Redmayne described the tension as the Jackal’s arrogance in believing he could balance those two sides of his life. That is the actor’s interpretation of the character, not a confirmed explanation of the episode’s intent. In an interview with Sky, Redmayne said: “I believe he’s deeply in love with her. This guy was a lone wolf after what happened in Afghanistan. He had made a life choice that was about seclusion and solitude. And then he met this human being who opened something in him and his Achilles heel was the arrogance to believe he could juggle those two things.”

Why does the Jackal kill Bianca?
Bianca’s offer to help him find Nuria does not stop him from killing her. Her death ends the season’s immediate hunter-and-hunted conflict, while leaving the personal questions she wanted answered unresolved. Sky confirms Bianca is killed in action; the available account does not establish a further motive beyond what happens in the finale.
Redmayne has characterized Bianca and the Jackal as mirror images in their obsession with their work. That is his reading of their dynamic, rather than a definitive explanation supplied by the episode.

What does Zina want, and what will the Jackal do next?
Zina wants to go after Winthrop and his associates. Sky’s recap says Winthrop failed to pay either Zina or the Jackal and had them marked for death. The Jackal does not make that his first move: he tells Zina that finding his family comes first.
The Budapest meeting sets up a possible pursuit of Winthrop alongside the unresolved search for Nuria and their son. The finale does not confirm which thread will take priority after the Jackal’s family search, or how either one will end.

Is there going to be a Season 2?
Yes. Peacock announced the series’ renewal in November 2024. Sky’s official series guide also lists Season 2 as confirmed in November 2024, but gives no release date. The renewal means the story can continue; it does not confirm whether the Jackal finds his family or what becomes of Winthrop.
Which series is this?
This explanation covers the 2024 television series starring Eddie Redmayne and Lashana Lynch, not the 1973 film. Sky identifies the series as based on Frederick Forsyth’s 1971 novel.
