There is no official, objective winner: “best physique” changes depending on whether you value size, definition, proportions, athleticism, or a distinctive design. This editorial ranking weighs all five, with room for very different body types. Anime art is stylized, and published measurements and feats are fictional character details—not real-world fitness evidence.
How this ranking works
The order reflects a balance of visible muscularity and definition, proportions and silhouette, athletic or combat presentation, and how memorable the physique is within its series. It is not a standardized contest: styles differ, and fictional measurements do not make characters directly comparable. The choices below favor a range of physiques rather than sheer size alone.
The 10 anime physiques
1. Trunks — Dragon Ball
Trunks earns the top spot for a muscular but comparatively lean silhouette. His build reads as powerful without relying on the enormous mass used for some other Dragon Ball characters, making his proportions one of the series’ most recognizable physique designs. A Dragon Ball Official Site feature contrasts him with Broly and quotes lawyer, cosplayer, and professional bodybuilder Kota Kobayashi saying, “A muscular but lean body like Trunks’ is surprisingly achievable.” That is Kobayashi’s opinion in the feature, not a medical guarantee. The same feature says Broly’s physique would require a lifetime of training and controlled diet, and would be “pretty much impossible” to achieve at home without proper equipment. 2. Ohma Tokita — Kengan Ashura
Ohma’s physique suits a martial artist: muscular and athletic, with a build that looks designed for combat rather than maximum size. Kengan Ashura’s official character listing identifies him as a Niko-Style martial artist and lists his fictional height and weight as 182 cm and 85 kg. The profile presents him as a gladiator who fights to prove he is strongest; those measurements describe the character, not a real athlete or a universal standard for a fighting build. 3. Superalloy Darkshine — One-Punch Man
Darkshine is a deliberately exaggerated take on bodybuilding-sized muscle. One-Punch Man’s official site describes his muscles as shining black and as armor capable of deflecting even iron. That framing makes his physique memorable not just for its scale but for how the story turns muscle into a visual expression of defense and power. See the official One-Punch Man announcement.
4. Julius Reinhold — Kengan Ashura
Julius is the ranking’s clearest example of extreme mass. His official profile lists him as 205 cm tall and 210 kg, and attributes his powerful physique to extreme doping and training. That is a fictional characterization, not a recommendation or a realistic fitness pathway. His design belongs on a list of striking physiques precisely because it pushes size far beyond the athletic proportions represented by characters such as Ohma. 5. Broly — Dragon Ball
Broly’s exceptional size gives him an imposing silhouette that sharply contrasts with Trunks’ leaner muscularity. The Dragon Ball Official Site feature uses the two characters to illustrate different physique ideals, while cautioning through its discussion that Broly’s build would demand a lifetime of training and controlled diet and is not a realistic home-workout goal without proper equipment. 6. Atsushi Suedo — Baki
Suedo’s official profile gives his physique a concrete athletic context through fictional feats: it says he can bench press 270 kilograms and run 100 meters barefoot in the 11-second range. Those are character specifications, not verified athletic results or population statistics. His appeal is the combination of visible strength and speed rather than sheer bulk alone. 7. Yujiro Hanma — Baki
Yujiro’s physique is designed to feel overwhelming: broad, heavily muscled, and closely tied to his reputation as a fighter. The design works as a visual shorthand for menace and dominance. Like other Baki physiques, it belongs to an exaggerated fictional world, not a reliable reference for attainable proportions or health.
8. Guts — Berserk
Guts has a powerful, rugged build that suggests sustained physical labor and combat rather than a polished bodybuilding ideal. His proportions are compelling because they fit the burden of his enormous sword and the brutal world he inhabits. That functional, weathered impression offers a contrast to characters whose bodies are presented as immaculate displays of muscle.

9. Aoi Todo — Jujutsu Kaisen
Todo’s thick, muscular frame gives him a distinctive presence among the series’ fighters. His physique reads as powerful and athletic, while his proportions remain recognizable rather than relying on the extreme scale of a character such as Darkshine. It earns its place through a clear silhouette and a strong fit with his hand-to-hand combat style.
10. Baki Hanma — Baki
Baki’s compact, defined build represents a different ideal from the towering mass of Julius or Broly. His design emphasizes agility and fighting ability, showing how a physique can look formidable without being the largest in the room. As with the rest of the series, the artwork is stylized, so it should not be read as a blueprint for real-world training results.

Why the order is subjective
A ranking focused only on mass would put characters such as Julius, Broly, and Darkshine near the top. Give more weight to leanness and proportions, and Trunks or Ohma may be stronger choices; prioritize combat presentation, and characters such as Baki or Suedo stand out. No shared measurement system across these series establishes a definitive winner, and official profile numbers or feats cannot settle an aesthetic judgment.
Using anime physiques as drawing references
For readers studying poses, TAMASHII NATIONS describes its Body-kun and Body-chan poseable figures as drawing support that can reproduce everyday and combat poses.
