In a post-finale interview, he described the strain of potentially betraying Joe Hunter and Eva Erickson while deciding what to do about Kamilla Karthigesu, an ally he also considered a serious threat.
Why Fraser said the final decision nearly overwhelmed him
“I honestly think I would’ve lost my mind on that island because Joe and I were extremely, extremely close. We had a lot of conversations out there that mattered to me,” Fraser told Dalton Ross in an Entertainment Weekly interview republished by AOL.
He was describing the emotional cost of the game’s final choices. Fraser said he feared facing Joe and Eva at Final Tribal Council because he believed both were strong communicators in front of the jury. He had been thinking through how the finalists’ jury prospects might play out, and said he believed Joe or Eva had a strong chance to win if they reached the end with him.
The phrase “lost my mind” was his description of that pressure and the prospect of betraying people he cared about; the interview does not describe a diagnosed condition or clinical crisis.

Why Fraser sent Kamilla to fire
Fraser said Kamilla had told him she would not take him to the end. He considered her a credible contender and thought that, if they sat together, they could split votes. Her disclosure gave him what he described as a kind of moral go-ahead: it made it easier to choose the move that he believed best served his own chances.
That was Fraser’s post-game assessment of the decision and its stakes, not proof of how the jury would have voted in a different final three. The consequences were uncertain; he was acting on his read of the game and his relationships.

Did Fraser offer to take Eva’s place in fire?
Fraser said he considered offering to replace Eva in the fire-making challenge because she was struggling. In his account of their conversation, Eva rejected the idea before he could make the offer and insisted on keeping her promise to do it herself. This is Fraser’s description of what happened between them.
What was Fraser’s Simmotion strategy?
Fraser said he repeated a left-right sequence to himself and tried to place the ball at the same time each round. He described it as his personal approach to Simmotion, not a universal technique: he noted that the other finalists used different methods.

Fraser won Survivor 48. Reality TV World reported that he defeated runner-up Eva Erickson and third-place finisher Joe Hunter in a 5-2-1 jury vote on Day 26; see its finale report.
