Ryan Medrano won silver in the men’s 100m T38 at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games on August 31, 2024. He also earned silver in the men’s 400m T38, making the 100m medal one of two silver finishes for the U.S. athlete.
Medrano takes silver in the 100m T38
Medrano finished second in the men’s 100m T38. Jaydin Blackwell of the United States won gold, giving the U.S. the top two places on the podium; Colombia’s Juan Alejandro Campas took bronze. World Para Athletics’ report lists the medal order.
He also won silver in the 400m T38
The 100m was not Medrano’s only medal at the Games. NBC Olympics and Team USA report that he also took silver in the men’s 400m T38. Team USA’s profile lists him sixth in the men’s long jump T38. These are separate events and classifications; the long-jump placing was not a medal.
From ‘Survivor’ to the Paralympic track
NBC Olympics identifies Medrano as a ‘Survivor’ alum and describes Paris as his Paralympic debut. The available reporting does not establish which season he appeared in, so a season number should not be assumed.

In the outlet’s ‘The Podium’ podcast feature, he offered this encouragement: “Use your disability as your superpower.”
