Forbes Australia estimated in July 2025 that South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone are each worth $1.2 billion. That makes “billionaires” a reported estimate, not a confirmed accounting of either creator’s personal assets. The figure is tied to their reported ownership of production company Park County and the value of their new Paramount agreement—not to a single $1.5 billion check.
What was announced—and what was estimated
On July 23, 2025, Paramount announced a five-year renewal with Park County and South Park Digital Studios. The company said the agreement covers 50 new episodes and the show’s 26 previous seasons. Paramount also said the series would continue on Comedy Central and Paramount+ around the world, with Paramount+ becoming the U.S. home for the library and new episodes. Paramount’s announcement confirms the term and programming scope, but does not disclose a dollar value.
Three days later, Forbes Australia reported that the agreement was worth $1.5 billion over five years and estimated Parker and Stone’s net worth at $1.2 billion apiece. Those financial figures are Forbes’s reporting and estimates, not terms published in Paramount’s announcement. The agreement’s reported value is also not the same thing as the creators’ personal wealth: it concerns a business arrangement over time, while net worth estimates attempt to account for assets and liabilities.
Why Forbes puts their net worth at $1.2 billion each
Forbes Australia says Parker and Stone own Park County outright. According to its account, the company was founded in 2012 using convertible debt from The Raine Group, and the creators bought out Raine in 2016. Forbes estimates Park County could be worth as much as $3 billion in a potential sale, a hypothetical company valuation that it says could leave each creator with more than $1 billion.

That possible sale has not been reported as completed. A company’s estimated enterprise value is not automatically the amount its owners would receive: debt, taxes, transaction terms, and other obligations affect what might ultimately reach them. Forbes also reports that Park County secured an $800 million credit line from The Carlyle Group in 2023. A credit line is financing, not proof that the full amount was borrowed or personal income to Parker or Stone.
How the deal figures differ
Several large figures have circulated around South Park. They describe different stages and kinds of value, so they should not be added together or used interchangeably. Forbes Australia states its figures in U.S. dollars.

The negotiation figure and the reported final agreement value are not competing descriptions of the same confirmed payment. Bloomberg’s June figure was a possible value while talks were ongoing; Paramount announced the renewal in July, while the $1.5 billion figure comes from Forbes’s reporting.
The streaming deals behind the franchise’s value
Forbes Australia’s account places the new agreement in a longer sequence of licensing and production deals. The figures below describe reported deals, not a tally of money personally retained by either creator.

These reports help explain why the franchise is valuable, but contract totals do not reveal how much either creator personally received after costs, financing, taxes, and any other business arrangements.

Paramount’s July 23 release says the agreement runs for five years, provides for 50 new episodes, and includes all 26 previous seasons. It describes continued availability on Comedy Central and Paramount+ around the world, and says Paramount+ would become the U.S. home for the library and new episodes. The release does not establish a current episode schedule, so it cannot answer when a particular next episode will arrive.

At the time of the announcement, Paramount executive Chris McCarthy called Parker and Stone “singular, creative forces” and described South Park as one of the company’s most valuable TV franchises. Those are Paramount’s characterizations, not a financial disclosure. Matt Stone said the creators and crew were grateful for the extension and looked forward to making the show for the next five years.
