Followers explained the slang as a feminine counterpart to “king,” used in place of “queen,” and the exchange turned into a lighthearted social-media moment.
What happened?
On November 12, 2022, Valesca posted that people who met her in her dressing room had been calling her “kinga.” A report by Matheus de Carvalho for POPline, published the following day, quoted her asking what the word meant. She joked that, since she did not know whether it was praise, she answered in kind: “AHHHHH VC QUE É” (“Ahhh, you’re the one”).
What does “kinga” mean in this exchange?
Followers explained “kinga” as a feminine adaptation of the English word “king,” used as an alternative to “queen.” One fan replied: “de dialeto de realeza eu entendo, minha rainha. pode confiar que é elogio, kinga” — roughly, “I understand royal dialect, my queen. Trust me, it’s a compliment, kinga.” That was a fan’s playful reassurance, not a definition supplied by Valesca.
Why did the post amuse people?
Valesca’s uncertainty, followed by her joking decision to return the compliment anyway, gave followers room to tease and explain the term. POPline described “kinga” as popular particularly among pop-music fans on Twitter, but the report gives no usage figures. The incident is best understood as a light exchange, not a controversy.

What the story does—and doesn’t—establish
The report captures how followers explained the word in that moment. It does not identify who coined “kinga,” establish its first use, or show that every community uses it the same way. Nor does it document how common the term is today. Its meaning here comes from the fans’ context-specific explanation: a playful feminine counterpart to “king,” standing in for “queen.”
