What happens in “Rat Trap”?
Harry opens the episode recovering memory sticks from Antoine. From there, he tries to keep several pressures from colliding: the Harrigans’ business, his relationship with his wife Jan, and the Stevensons’ demands following Tommy’s death.

Conrad learns that Archie’s body has been dug up. He suspects there is a mole because, as Matt Cabral’s recap reports, only Conrad and Harry knew where the body was hidden. That discovery puts Harry under suspicion even as he works to manage other threats.
Maeve is behind Tommy’s murder
The episode’s biggest reveal arrives in a domestic setting. Maeve is shown to have arranged Tommy’s murder, with Eddie carrying it out as a message to the Stevensons. The breakfast scene makes the contrast pointed: Maeve appears composed while the consequences of her plan continue to spread.

#1 Best Overall
Cabral’s recap reports Maeve telling Eddie, “We’ve got everyone exactly where we want them.” The line captures her position as an active strategist rather than a bystander to the Harrigans’ conflict.
Alice’s friendship with Jan has another purpose
Jan spends time with Alice, whose apparent friendship is complicated by a major reveal: she is working undercover for Detective Fisk. After encountering Conrad at Jan’s home, Fisk wants Alice to get closer to him. Jan’s home has therefore become part of an investigation without her knowing the full context.
Harry’s explanation does not end the Stevensons’ leverage
Richie makes Harry kill the man Harry had blamed for Tommy’s murder. Harry gets Richie to accept his explanation, but Richie then requires the Harrigans to attend Tommy’s funeral. The demand keeps the families exposed to one another at a moment when Maeve’s role has made the danger more complicated.

“Rat Trap” is less about a single confrontation than about concealed motives coming into view. Conrad reacts to a breach of secrecy, while Maeve demonstrates that the murder was part of a deliberate message. Alice’s undercover assignment adds another hidden agenda, and Harry’s efforts to satisfy Richie still leave him with a new obligation. The revelations change how the conflicts around the Harrigans and Stevensons should be read, even as the episode avoids resolving them.
