Brooklyn Beckham’s reported social-media block is part of a wider family estrangement, but accounts differ over who blocked whom. In a January 2026 Instagram statement, Brooklyn said he did not want to reconcile and described grievances involving his parents, his wife Nicola Peltz Beckham and the family’s public image. Those are his allegations, not independently verified findings; public reporting does not establish a definitive private reason for the rift.
What Brooklyn Beckham said about the estrangement
In a statement published on Instagram on January 19–20, 2026, Brooklyn said he did not want to reconcile with his family. The Guardian reported his words: “I do not want to reconcile with my family. I’m not being controlled, I’m standing up for myself for the first time in my life.” He alleged that his parents controlled press narratives about the family, tried to undermine his marriage to Nicola and disrespected her. The Guardian’s January 2026 report and BBC coverage describe his account.
The wedding and name-rights disputes he cited
Brooklyn connected his grievances to events surrounding his April 2022 wedding and to his name. He alleged that Victoria Beckham withdrew from making Nicola’s wedding dress close to the wedding, that she took over a planned first dance at the reception, and that his parents pressured him to sign away rights to his name. These points are allegations made in Brooklyn’s account; the cited coverage does not independently establish them as fact. The Guardian and BBC News reported the claims.
Who blocked whom? The accounts conflict
The public accounts do not settle the sequence of the social-media block. In December 2025, Cruz Beckham was reported as saying Brooklyn had blocked family members. Brooklyn later said his brothers had blocked him during the previous summer. The reports therefore do not support stating as settled fact that Brooklyn blocked his parents. The Guardian and BBC News covered the competing accounts.

Victoria Beckham’s later public response
In an interview with WSJ Magazine, reported by the Los Angeles Times on April 16, 2026, Victoria Beckham said she and David loved their children, had tried to be the best parents they could, and had sought to protect and love them. She did not name Brooklyn in the quoted remarks, so they should not be treated as a point-by-point response to his allegations. The Los Angeles Times report provides her comments.

The clearest public explanation is Brooklyn’s own account of long-running grievances about his marriage, family publicity and specific wedding-related events. The block itself remains disputed, and the available reporting cannot establish private motives or resolve the competing allegations. It is more accurate to describe a broader estrangement than to claim one confirmed reason—or a settled account of who blocked whom.
