Spoilers for all 13 episodes of Season 1, especially the finale. “Before Season 2” is now a historical framing: Found ran for two seasons, NBC canceled it before the May 15, 2025 finale, and both seasons are now streaming on Netflix, according to its January 2026 guide. This recap revisits where the story and its characters stood at the end of Season 1.
What is Found about?
Found is a missing-persons drama set primarily in Washington, D.C. Gabi Mosely leads Mosely & Associates, a team that takes cases overlooked by authorities or the public. In the pilot, Gabi responds to a child seeking help to find his missing foster sister, Camilla, while police focus on the higher-profile kidnapping of a senator’s daughter. Netflix describes Gabi and her team as using “highly unorthodox, slightly illegal methods.” Netflix’s series guide lays out the premise and principal cast.
The show’s central secret is more disturbing still: Sir, the man who kidnapped Gabi as a child, is chained in her basement. Gabi has made him an unwilling adviser, drawing on his knowledge of abductors to help find missing people. She is trying to rescue others with insight from her own abuser, while secretly holding him captive. The team does not know about Sir for most of the season.
Who are the key characters?
- Gabi Mosely (Shanola Hampton): Founder of Mosely & Associates and a survivor of childhood kidnapping. Her secret relationship with Sir complicates her work as a rescuer.
- Sir (Mark-Paul Gosselaar): Gabi’s former kidnapper and hidden captive. He can provide useful insight, but his confinement does not make him safe or erase his control over their relationship.
- Lacey Quinn (Gabrielle Walsh): Gabi’s close colleague and another kidnapping survivor. Learning that Gabi kept Sir captive devastates her.
- Dhan Rana (Karan Oberoi): An investigator on the team, later sent to track Sir after his escape.
- Zeke Wallace (Arlen Escarpeta): The team’s technology expert. His own kidnapping history helps Gabi understand the Dashika case.
- Margaret Reed (Kelli Williams): A team member whose missing son becomes a major story thread later in the series.
- Detective Mark Trent (Brett Dalton): The team’s law-enforcement contact.
How does Season 1 unfold?
The 13-episode season pairs a missing-person case with continuing character stories. The cases involve people facing risks connected to circumstances such as homelessness, immigration status, trafficking and addiction—situations that can leave them underserved. Meanwhile, the show follows Gabi and Lacey’s shared history, Sir’s captivity and the team’s uneven trust in Gabi. Peacock’s Season 1 episode list confirms the season’s length and case-by-case structure.

- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Individual cases can be solved while the secret at the center of the show remains unresolved. Sir sometimes offers a lead, but helping Gabi does not make him trustworthy, and the finale makes clear that Gabi’s decision to imprison him threatens the team as much as his escape does.
What happens in the Season 1 finale?
Sir escapes while Gabi is missing
In “Missing While Forgotten,” Gabi returns after being kidnapped herself and discovers Sir has escaped from her basement. He has used the crisis to pursue her, and his fixation is plainly not over. Dhan says Sir has left for Amsterdam, but Gabi realizes Sir also helped the team by pointing them toward Dashika and interfering with footage from the train station. His help and his threat coexist; one does not cancel the other.

Dashika is found, and the culprit is exposed
The team resolves Dashika’s disappearance. Her grandmother Lily abducted her because she believed she was rescuing her. Dashika’s father was not the abuser: his partner, April, caused the burns on Dashika’s arm. April is arrested, and Dashika is reunited with her father. Zeke’s disclosure that his uncle kidnapped him helps Gabi make sense of the case.
Gabi tells the team the truth
Gabi reveals that she kept Sir captive. Lacey is devastated and walks out, leaving the team reeling. The danger escalates when Lacey’s dog, Cruiser, is poisoned; rat poison goes missing from Gabi’s home; and Sir is shown near Lacey’s house. The finale ends with Sir free, Gabi’s secret exposed and the team’s trust badly damaged. Peacock’s Season 2 listing describes the premiere as following the team’s spiral after Gabi’s revelation and flags Lacey’s flashbacks.

What should you remember going into Season 2?
- Gabi is both a rescuer and someone who secretly imprisoned her own kidnapper. That contradiction is central to the story, not a secret the finale neatly resolves.
- Sir is loose. His interest in Gabi and Lacey makes him an immediate danger, not a finished chapter of Gabi’s past.
- The team now knows Gabi’s secret, and Lacey’s reaction leaves their relationships fractured.
- Dashika’s case is resolved, but her safe return does not repair the team’s trust or stop Sir.
- Season 2 begins in the aftermath of Gabi’s revelation. It has since aired, and the series has concluded.

Netflix’s January 2026 guide says both seasons are streaming there. Peacock also lists both seasons in its Season 1 and Season 2 episode pages. Availability can change by location and over time.
