What made Dedication Night different?
Each of the ten couples honored someone important to them, including family members, friends and colleagues. Some honorees joined the performers on the dance floor. Former professional dancer Kym Johnson Herjavec joined Carrie Ann Inaba, Derek Hough and Bruno Tonioli on the judging panel, so the episode’s routines were scored out of 40.

Which performances stood out on the scoreboard?
Efron and Karagach take first
Efron and Karagach earned four 9s for their contemporary routine, the night’s top score. Olivia joined them for the performance, which was dedicated to Efron’s sister.
Irwin’s tribute drew an emotional response
Irwin and Carson scored 35/40 with their contemporary dance honoring Terri Irwin. TV Insider attributed this response to Bruno Tonioli: “You gave us all of your heart and soul.” The recap also attributed this line to Derek Hough addressing the Irwin family: “The love I have for your family … thank you.”

Richter finishes last, but remains in the competition
Richter and Slater’s salsa earned 24/40, the lowest reported score. Cornelia joined part of the dance. With no elimination that night, the score did not send the couple home immediately.
How did the episode perform with viewers?
TheWrap reported that the October 14, 2025, episode drew 5.98 million viewers in Nielsen live-plus-same-day figures, then a season high and 2% above Disney Night’s 5.88 million. TheWrap also reported 50.15 million votes, 11% more than Disney Night’s 45 million, plus a 1.53 rating among adults 18–34 and 4 million social interactions.
