The bonus points did not protect Jenn and Sasha from the final elimination. TVLine called the outcome “the season’s first truly surprising elimination”—a critic’s framing, not an official explanation of the result.
Why the elimination caught them off guard
In a post-show interview with TV Insider, Sasha said they were focused on the high of receiving a 10 from Carrie Ann and winning the dance-off. “To be honest, we’re on such a high with the ‘10’ [from Carrie Ann] and the dance-off win, we didn’t think about elimination,” he said. He explained that they understood the danger only when three couples remained onstage.

Jenn said, “I’m so happy I got this experience. I wasn’t even supposed to be on the show. I’ve been very grateful to have been able to dance these last seven weeks with Sasha.” She also credited the audience: “We would not be here without the fans wanting us to be here.” Their reaction captures the tension of the episode: a strong score and dance-off victory could still end in elimination.
What Jenn and Sasha said after leaving the show
In an interview published October 30, 2024, by Good Morning America, Jenn described the show as “such a great distraction” and said she had built confidence, learned about herself, and felt more connected to herself.
