The episode links that ability to her seizure, but neither the scene nor Hawley’s comments establish the precise mechanism.
What happens during the dissection?
In Episode 3, Kirsh dissects a Xenomorph embryo, and Wendy seizes during the procedure. The timing makes the scene feel connected to the alien, but it does not establish that the dissection physically changes Wendy or explain exactly what triggers her reaction. The episode plot summary places the seizure in the sequence; it does not prove a specific cause.
What does Wendy’s connection to the creatures mean?
On FX’s official podcast, creator Noah Hawley says Wendy has “her ability to hear and communicate with these creatures,” adding that “the other Hybrids don’t have that ability.” His comment confirms that Wendy’s connection is unusual within the group. It supports reading her seizure as related to that connection, while leaving the technical explanation open. FX’s official episode podcast
Is Wendy’s hybrid body the explanation?
The series describes a Hybrid as a humanoid robot infused with human consciousness and identifies Wendy as the first Hybrid prototype. That is important context for her identity, but it does not, by itself, explain why she responds during the embryo dissection. The official series description

TIME describes Wendy as an adult-bodied synthetic receiving Marcy’s consciousness, but that background also does not establish the cause of the seizure. TIME’s account of Wendy

Hawley’s remarks confirm Wendy’s ability to hear and communicate with the creatures, not how that ability works or whether the seizure is a direct physical response to the embryo. The episode leaves open whether the lab procedure triggers, amplifies, or merely coincides with her connection. It does not establish that an alien is implanted in Wendy or that the surgery modifies her body.

Hawley also frames the story’s larger question in terms of identity and the soul: whether a person remains the same when human consciousness moves into a synthetic body. That is a thematic question, rather than a technical answer to what causes Wendy’s seizure. FX’s official episode podcast
