Spoilers for episode 5, “Darkest Hour / Wake Thy Power,” of Agatha All Along. Joe Locke’s character Teen is revealed as Billy, Wanda Maximoff’s son—known as Wiccan in Marvel Comics. In an interview republished by Acre Notícias, Locke says the reveal matters not only because it names Teen, but because it changes how the coven has to treat him: Billy is a witch who can harm the others.
What does the episode 5 reveal mean for Billy?
Until the end of episode 5, Teen has occupied a relatively familiar, secondary position among the witches. The reveal that he is Billy shifts that balance. As Locke explains in the Entertainment Weekly interview republished by Acre Notícias, Billy is not simply someone the coven has to protect or carry along; he has magical power that can put the other characters in danger.
That change gives the identity reveal consequences beyond solving a mystery. Locke says the rest of the season explores Billy’s motives and backstory, so viewers are left to reconsider what they have seen and what he wants from Agatha and the group.
Is Billy’s fanboy persona an act?
Locke and showrunner Jac Schaeffer considered the moral ambiguity created by Billy’s lies to Agatha. The interview describes their questions as interpretive rather than settled: does deceiving her make Billy a bad person, and is his enthusiastic fanboy presentation a complete façade or a genuine part of him?

That uncertainty is central to Locke’s approach. The reveal does not make every earlier moment easy to label as honest or deceptive; instead, it puts a more powerful and complicated character inside the coven’s existing relationships. Locke sums up the tonal shift: “The show starts getting real.”
How did Locke prepare to play a character linked to Wanda?
Locke says he was not well acquainted with Billy’s comic-book history before booking the role. Marvel gave him access to that background, including Young Avengers material. He also worked with movement coach Jennifer White on the similarities and differences between Billy’s and Wanda’s magical gestures—a physical way to suggest a connection without treating the two characters as interchangeable.

The interview does not present a single comic storyline as the show’s script. Locke says Agatha All Along is not following the Young Avengers narrative or any one specific comic as a blueprint. Comics can provide background for readers, but they do not, on this evidence, establish what the series must do next.
What does Locke hope happens to Billy next?
Locke’s wish for the character is expansive: “In my ideal world, Billy would become the next head of the Avengers and be in every Marvel thing ever, but there are higher things at play.” It is a statement of hope, not confirmation of a future role or Marvel announcement.
