The “surprising ingredient” in the headline cannot be confirmed from the available official sources: at least two Gordon Ramsay videos match the broad description of a 10-minute pasta, and the 2024 video’s description does not identify its ingredients. One official recipe does specify an under-10-minute carbonara with peas, mushrooms, chili and crème fraîche, but there is no evidence that it is the dish the headline refers to.
Which 10-minute pasta is the headline about?
Two official Gordon Ramsay uploads could fit a description of an easy pasta dinner made in about 10 minutes. Their titles and descriptions point to different dishes, and neither establishes which one the headline means.

Because the 2024 description offers no ingredient list, and the 2021 description only says the green pasta is full of vegetables, naming one ingredient as the answer would go beyond what these sources show.
A separate official recipe: carbonara with peas
Gordon Ramsay’s site does publish a recipe called “Gordon’s Carbonara in Under 10 Minutes”. It is a related example, not a verified match for the headline’s pasta.

Ingredients listed for the carbonara
- 125 g dried spaghetti
- 30 g frozen peas
- 80 g streaky bacon or pancetta
- Two egg yolks and 1 1/2 tablespoons crème fraîche
- Two mushrooms and one chili
- Olive oil, two garlic cloves, grated Grana Padano or Parmesan, parsley, salt and pepper
The recipe’s method cooks the pasta while browning the bacon, then adds garlic, mushrooms and chili. The egg yolks, crème fraîche and grated cheese are combined separately; peas and pasta water go into the bacon mixture before the pasta and egg mixture are tossed through. The official page labels the recipe as taking under ten minutes. Its listed ingredients include several plausible candidates for an unexpected addition, but none can be assigned to the headline’s unidentified video.
Ramsay’s 10-minute cooking promise
Hodder & Stoughton, part of Hachette UK, describes Ramsay in 10 as a collection of 100 recipes “all clocking in at around 10 minutes.” The publisher lists a UK on-sale date of October 14, 2021, and ISBN 9781529364385. Ramsay explains the flexible timing promise on the publisher page: “It doesn’t matter if it takes you 10 minutes, 12 minutes or even 15 minutes, to me, it’s about sharing my 25 years’ of knowledge, expertise and hands-on experience, to make everyone feel like better, happier cooks.” The book is related further reading; the publisher page does not establish that the unidentified pasta from the headline appears in it.
