Elisabeth Moss confirmed in January 2024 that she was expecting her first child. In March 2025, she said she had given birth in 2024 and had brought her baby to the set of The Handmaid’s Tale. She has not publicly shared the child’s name, sex, exact birth date or father.
When did Elisabeth Moss announce her pregnancy?
Moss announced her pregnancy during a January 30, 2024 appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, reported the following day. When host Jimmy Kimmel asked whether she was pregnant or “just an incredibly committed method actor,” she replied, “A little bit of both.” She added, “I’ve been really lucky, it’s going really well.” ABC News and Good Morning America reported her announcement.

Did Elisabeth Moss have her baby?
Yes. At PaleyFest LA in March 2025, Moss confirmed that she had given birth to her first child in 2024. Reports said she brought the baby with her while filming the sixth and final season of The Handmaid’s Tale. Asked about bringing her child to the set, she said, “The only thing I would say about that is I feel so fortunate to be able to do that.” People and The Hollywood Reporter covered her confirmation and comments.
What has Moss kept private?
The cited reports do not identify the baby’s name, sex, exact birth date or father. Moss also did not give a due date when she announced the pregnancy. There is no confirmed basis in these reports for filling in those details.
