Alex Soros and Huma Abedin married in June 2025 in a two-part celebration in New York’s Hamptons: an intimate Friday ceremony at Soros’s father’s home in Southampton, followed by a Saturday wedding at the couple’s home in Water Mill. Vogue’s coverage named and pictured prominent guests, but it did not publish a complete official guest list.
Where and when did Alex Soros and Huma Abedin marry?
The couple’s wedding weekend took place in June 2025 at two homes. British Vogue reported that the main celebration was held on Saturday at the couple’s Water Mill home, while a smaller ceremony took place the previous day at Alex Soros’s father’s home in Southampton. What happened at the Friday ceremony?
The Friday service brought together elements honoring Abedin’s Muslim faith and Soros’s Jewish heritage: the couple signed a nikah and a ketubah. Soros told British Vogue he was “a tad nervous because really it’s not something you can practice for.”
Rain fell during the ceremony, then stopped as the procession began. Abedin reflected, “There are some things you cannot control, and Mother Nature is number one on that list.”

Who attended the wedding?
Vogue’s feature and photo gallery identify prominent guests from politics, media and the couple’s social circles. Hillary Clinton and Anna Wintour are among the guests shown in the gallery. The coverage also names people who gave toasts: Abedin’s son Jordan, Soros’s brother Jonathan Soros, Albanian prime minister Edi Rama, Anna Wintour, James Rothschild and Daniel Sachs.
These are reported examples, not a complete guest list. Vogue did not establish a definitive roster or total attendance count, so no full list or guest number can be confirmed from the coverage.

What was served, and who designed the event?
Vogue reported that event and floral designer Raúl Àvila worked with the couple. Caterer Olivier Cheng and cake creator Daniel Colonel were also named. The tented dinner menu included chilled English pea soup, American wagyu bavette steak, grilled prawns and truffle agnolotti. The three-tier cake featured chocolate, London fog and tiramisu flavors.
What did Huma Abedin wear?
Vogue reported that Abedin wore custom Givenchy and Erdem dresses for the wedding events, and described an Oscar de la Renta look after the intimate ceremony. These were event-specific, custom fashion looks; the reporting does not establish that identical garments are available as ordinary retail products. Vogue’s fitting feature covers the Givenchy and Erdem dresses.

How did the couple meet and get engaged?
According to British Vogue, Abedin and Soros met at a party hosted by James and Nicky Hilton Rothschild in October 2023 and became engaged in June 2024. Soros proposed at their Manhattan apartment. Abedin recalled: “Alex bought the ring one morning and proposed by our dining table that same evening. He handed me the ring in a taking out bag saying that it was ‘dessert.’”
Before the wedding, Abedin told Vogue, “I’m really happy, just floating most days.”
