The footage and published plot details point to a showdown with Skeletor, while leaving many story specifics unconfirmed.
What happens in the first trailer?
Amazon MGM Studios and Mattel Studios released the first teaser on January 22, 2026, according to the Los Angeles Times report published that day. It introduces Adam on Earth, where he lives under the name Adam Glenn and works an office job. The LA Times describes him as longing for the extraordinary world he left behind.
The Power Sword is the link between that ordinary life and Adam’s past: its recovery gives him a way back to Eternia. The trailer’s central setup is his return and his transformation into He-Man, followed by conflict with Skeletor. The Motion Picture Association’s coverage of the trailer independently describes the Earth-based Adam premise and his return to Eternia.
What the trailer establishes—and what remains unclear
Established by the trailer coverage
- Adam has an Earth life as Adam Glenn before the story draws him back toward Eternia.
- The Power Sword reconnects him to his home and his identity as He-Man.
- The conflict is framed around He-Man and Skeletor, with Eternia and its characters central to the story.
Reported plot context
The LA Times says Adam was sent to Earth for his safety. That detail provides context for his life away from Eternia, but it is a plot detail reported alongside the trailer, not a reason to assume the teaser explains the full history of his exile.
