There is no verified public figure for what Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Michael Richards, or Jason Alexander currently receives individually from Seinfeld reruns. Jason Alexander has said the three received standard Screen Actors Guild residuals; his estimate of his own syndication earnings—less than $200,000—was a historical figure from the time of his interview, not a current annual payment.
What is known about their rerun payments?
Alexander described the trio’s rerun compensation as standard SAG residuals, rather than the backend profit participation they had requested. In a Backstage interview published around 2013, he said: “We get standard SAG residuals, which have a diminishing return, and at some point they stop altogether.”

Alexander also said he did not think he had made $200,000 from syndication “and that’s worldwide now.” That was his qualified estimate of his own cumulative syndication earnings at that time. It does not establish what he earns today, what the other two actors received, or their annual payments.
Why the $600,000-per-episode figure is different
Reports say Louis-Dreyfus, Richards, and Alexander each earned $600,000 per episode during Seinfeld’s ninth and final season. That was salary for acting in new episodes—not a payment for reruns or a current residual rate. Celebrity Net Worth’s 2026 report gives the figure.

| Compensation category | What is reported | What it does not establish |
|---|---|---|
| Final-season salary | $600,000 per episode for each of the three actors, as reported by Celebrity Net Worth in 2026. | Current rerun income or ownership of the series. |
| Syndication earnings | Alexander said at the time of his circa-2013 Backstage interview that he did not think his syndication earnings had reached $200,000. | A current annual amount, or the earnings of Louis-Dreyfus and Richards. |
| Current individual residuals | Not stated by the cited reporting as an audited, actor-by-actor figure. | A confirmed payment for any one actor today. |
Did the cast receive a share of the show’s profits?
Alexander said the three actors sought backend participation in Seinfeld’s profits and were denied. That is distinct from residuals: the actors can receive payments for reuse of their performances without having obtained the profit participation they requested. Alexander’s Backstage interview is the source for his account of the residuals and the unsuccessful request.
What about DVD sales?
A later Celebrity Net Worth report from 2026 says the actors received a share of DVD sales after a dispute over DVD participation. It gives no current DVD payment amount. DVD-sale participation is separate from residuals paid for reruns, so it cannot be used to calculate their present rerun income.

What later reporting can—and cannot—tell us
Celebrity Net Worth’s 2026 coverage characterizes possible residual totals broadly as reaching hundreds of thousands of dollars per year, but does not supply individual accounting or underlying contract and payment records. Treat that as a reported estimate, not a confirmed current figure for each actor.
TheWrap’s 2019 coverage confirms that the actors were among parties receiving residuals in connection with licensing, but likewise provides no actor-by-actor breakdown. A show’s licensing value is not the same thing as the personal amount paid to a performer.
