Netflix U.S. added the first eight episodes of Outlander season 7 on August 11, 2025. The catch: Tom’s Guide reported that episodes 9–16 would not arrive on Netflix U.S. until January 17, 2027. Netflix’s help pages do not confirm that title-specific date, so check the show’s live Netflix listing before planning around it.

This schedule is specific to the U.S. report. Netflix catalogs vary by country, so the U.S. dates do not establish when either half is available elsewhere.
Why does Netflix have only half of season 7?
Netflix’s Help Center guidance on TV show availability says licensed shows may arrive after their original broadcast, seasons can be divided into parts, and licensing rights can affect whether a season is available. These are general explanations for how Netflix catalogs work; they do not reveal the terms of Outlander’s Netflix license or confirm why this season is split.

Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What is the current status of Outlander season 8?
Season 8 is the final season. STARZ lists ten episodes, with episode 10 identified as the series finale; Sony Pictures’ franchise page also describes season 8 as the final season. That makes older reports calling it an upcoming season outdated.
