Anyone but You pairs Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell as a couple whose wedding-weekend act depends on a much larger circle of family, friends and exes. The wedding party supplies the connections—and complications—that bring Bea and Ben back together.
Who is in the cast of Anyone but You?
Sydney Sweeney plays Bea, and Glen Powell plays Ben. The supporting cast fills out the wedding in Australia that reunites them: Claudia and Halle are getting married, while their relatives, friends and former partners shape the social pressures around the couple.

How the wedding connects Bea and Ben
Sony’s synopsis sets up the leads’ uneasy reunion: Bea and Ben have an excellent first date, then become hostile toward one another. They later meet again at a destination wedding in Australia and pretend to be a couple. Netflix Tudum identifies the wedding as Claudia and Halle’s and places Bea and Ben’s first meeting in a Boston coffee shop.
#1 Best Overall
- In the edgy comedy Anyone But You, Bea (Sydney Sweeney) and Ben (Glen Powell) look like the perfect couple, but after an amazing first date something happens that turns their fiery hot attraction ice cold - until they find themselves unexpectedly thrust together at a destination wedding in Australia. So they do what any two mature adults would do: pretend to be a couple.
The supporting characters are not simply a guest list. Claudia and Halle’s relationship links the two families, while Ben’s friendship with Pete gives him a reason to be there. Bea’s parents invite her ex Jonathan hoping the former couple will reconcile, and Ben’s ex Margaret attends with her boyfriend, Beau. Each connection gives the pretend relationship an audience with its own assumptions.
Is Anyone but You on Netflix?
It depends on your country. Netflix’s Canada title page says the film is not currently available there, while its Saudi Arabia page lists it as a watchable title and provides offline-download information. A title page in one country does not establish access in another; Netflix catalogs and listing details can change, so check the film’s page in your local catalog.

The Shakespeare connection
Netflix Tudum says screenwriter Ilana Wolpert loosely based the screenplay on William Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing. Sydney Sweeney described the adaptation this way: “Ilana took such a cool, modern twist on Shakespeare, I felt like I was reading an early 2000s rom-com.”
