That unevenness is also the central tension in Franck Colombani’s 5 October 2024 review for Le Monde, published the day after the album’s release.
What Moon Music sounds like
Coldplay announced Moon Music as its tenth studio album on 17 June 2024, naming Max Martin as producer. The band’s announcement presents it as a second part to Music of the Spheres; Colombani hears that connection in its colorful synth-pop, prominent strings, keyboards and arena-sized choruses. The announcement does not supply a complete album-wide production-credit breakdown, so Max Martin should not be treated as the sole credited producer on that basis alone.

The record’s scale is part of both its appeal and its risk. Its collaborative, communal pop gestures aim for uplift, but a large chorus or lush arrangement does not automatically make every song feel fully realized. Colombani’s review finds the singles more convincing than much of the album around them, calling the result “a mixed note.” That is one critic’s assessment, not a consensus score.
Where the songs land
The singles and clearest focal points
Colombani singles out “WE PRAY,” “GOOD FEELiNGS” and “iAAM” as among the album’s strongest points. “WE PRAY” brings together Little Simz, Burna Boy, Elyanna and TINI; “GOOD FEELiNGS” features Ayra Starr. The first track’s many voices suit the album’s collective scale, while the second’s guest feature gives it a distinct pop focus. In Colombani’s reading, these tracks—and the single “iAAM”—feel more persuasive than much of the surrounding sequence.

The less consistent stretch
He finds “Rainbow,” “JUPiTER,” “Aeterna,” “ALL MY LOVE” and “ONE WORLD” less successful or mixed. The issue is not simply that the songs are quieter or more experimental: his broader structural criticism is that the four singles seem more fully realized than the rest of the record. For a listener, that makes the album’s flow a more useful measure than its high points alone. If Coldplay’s expansive optimism and arena scale are what you want, the ambition is present throughout; if you need each track to deliver the same melodic payoff as the standouts, the sequence may feel uneven.
The original album’s tracklist
Coldplay’s official release page dates the album to 4 October 2024 and lists these ten tracks in order. Track six is styled with a rainbow symbol.

What the Full Moon Edition adds
Announced on 6 October 2024, two days after the original release, the Full Moon Edition keeps the original album and adds a ten-track bonus section called “BLUE MOONS.” The official announcement prints nine bonus titles; its tenth listed entry is blank, so there is no confirmed title to supply for it.

Physical editions and what they include
Coldplay described four first-edition physical formats in its 17 June 2024 announcement: standard EcoCD, standard EcoRecord LP, Notebook Edition EcoCD, and Notebook Edition EcoRecord LP plus EcoCD. The band said the first edition was limited and that first-edition EcoRecord LP products were individually numbered. A US store listing is a snapshot of that market and may not reflect current or regional inventory.

In its 17 June 2024 announcement, Coldplay described its manufacturing figures as follows. These are the band’s published claims; the cited material does not independently validate their lifecycle methodology.

- The 140g EcoRecord LP uses nine recycled PET plastic bottles per copy, and the band said the format would avoid more than 25 metric tonnes of virgin plastic.
- Coldplay reported an 85% reduction in manufacturing-process CO2 emissions per kilogram compared with traditional 140g vinyl.
- For EcoCD, the band reported at least a 78% reduction in CO2 emissions per kilogram compared with conventional manufacture, and more than five metric tonnes of virgin plastic avoided.
The same announcement said Coldplay’s ongoing tour had produced 59% less CO2e emissions than its previous stadium tour at the time of publication. That is tour context, not a result for the album’s physical formats.
