Chicago Med Season 10 brought in Sarah Ramos as Dr. Caitlin Lenox and Darren Barnet as Dr. John Frost, both as series regulars, and promoted Luke Mitchell’s Dr. Mitch Ripley from recurring to series regular. The returning cast also included key Gaffney staff, while Dominic Rains did not return as a regular as Dr. Crockett Marcel. This is a guide to the reported cast changes and selected returners, not a complete episode-by-episode roster.

Contracts extending through the 2024–25 season
TVLine reported on July 1, 2024, that three veteran cast members had signed to return through the 2024–25 season:
| Performer | Character | Role at Gaffney |
|---|---|---|
| S. Epatha Merkerson | Sharon Goodwin | Chief administrator |
| Oliver Platt | Dr. Daniel Charles | Head of psychiatry |
| Marlyne Barrett | Maggie Lockwood | Emergency department charge nurse |
The contract report names all three performers and their return.
Other named Season 10 ensemble members
TV Insider’s Season 10 ensemble preview also named Jessy Schram as Dr. Hannah Asher and Steven Weber as Dr. Dean Archer. The report identifies them as part of the ensemble; it does not establish a specific episode count or screen time.
What happened to Dr. Crockett Marcel?
Dominic Rains did not return as a Season 10 regular after playing trauma surgeon Dr. Crockett Marcel from Season 5. TVLine reported on June 28, 2024, that Rains would not return for the coming season, and subsequent casting coverage described him as not returning as a regular. Those reports establish his departure from the regular cast, not that a guest appearance was impossible.

Why Ripley’s return mattered to the story
Season 10 followed the unresolved accusation at the end of Season 9: a patient who had sued Ripley accused him of assault, and Ripley left the emergency department without defending himself. TV Insider’s Season 10 preview framed that allegation as an ongoing source of uncertainty for Ripley and Dr. Hannah Asher. The preview also covers the new regulars and the returning ensemble.
When did Season 10 premiere?
TV Insider announced the Season 10 premiere for Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at 8/7c on NBC. That is the historical premiere date announced in 2024, not a current broadcast schedule. TV Insider’s casting preview included the date and time.
How complete is this cast guide?
The available season-specific reports identify the principal additions, selected returners, and Rains’s departure from the regular cast. They do not provide a definitive actor list for every episode, so a name missing from this overview should not be taken as proof that the performer left the show.
Wolf Entertainment describes the series as following doctors, nurses, and staff at a Chicago trauma center, but its currently displayed selective cast list includes Rains and is not a reliable Season 10 roster. For the casting changes above, season-specific 2024 reports are the relevant records.
