In a PEOPLE interview published February 28, 2025, Madison recounted that Alex messaged her after they left the pods and asked her to meet him at an airport. She says she initially wanted time after their breakup, but agreed to see him.

Madison said the meeting made her feel that the connection they had formed in the pods had not carried over. She described that realization by saying, “That was very obvious.” That is Madison’s interpretation of the encounter, rather than a jointly stated explanation for why their relationship changed.
What Madison says Alex told her about Mason
Madison also recalled asking Alex what he really thought of fellow contestant Mason Horacek. According to her account, Alex called Mason a “massive weirdo,” even though he had defended him in the pods. Madison said Alex later denied making that remark.

The interview reports Madison’s recollection and Alex’s denial as she relayed it. It does not independently establish what was said, so the alleged comment remains disputed.
Alex’s account: they kept talking, then ended contact
PEOPLE reported Alex’s account that he and Madison “definitely continued to talk after the pods.” He said they soon realized they were on different pages and decided to stop communicating. Madison likewise said she had reservations and thought ending things was probably for the best.

The accounts describe a brief post-pods meeting and some continued contact, followed by a decision to go separate ways. They differ in emphasis: Madison focused on what the airport meeting revealed to her, while Alex’s reported explanation was that their expectations did not align.
