In a preview of part two of the Southern Charm season 9 reunion, Shep Rose criticized Austen Kroll over the way Kroll handled his relationship with Olivia Flowers and his kiss with Taylor Ann Green. Flowers said she and Kroll began seeing each other after filming ended and spent six to eight months together. The preview, published January 17, 2024, does not settle whether they were officially boyfriend and girlfriend.
What Olivia Flowers said about dating Austen Kroll
Flowers said she and Kroll did not get together until cameras had stopped filming. Describing what followed, she said: “We didn’t get together until after cameras left, but there was a full stretch of six, seven, eight months of us together, traveling together.” That is Flowers’s account of their post-filming timeline, not an independently established measurement.
The preview also notes that Green had argued Flowers and Kroll were not officially boyfriend and girlfriend. Flowers’s description of spending months together and traveling with Kroll conveys how close she felt they were, but does not resolve that disagreement over the label.
Why Shep Rose said Austen broke his heart
Rose’s criticism focused on what he saw as Kroll keeping Flowers close while relying on the lack of an official relationship label to describe himself as single. Rose called that a “loophole.” He also objected to Kroll laughing about kissing Green, telling him: “It broke my f—ing heart seeing you like, ‘Whatever, hey,’”
#1 Best Overall
The argument followed Kroll and Green’s kiss. According to the preview, Flowers learned about it after Green initially concealed it, and the revelation effectively ended Flowers and Green’s friendship at that point.
How Austen Kroll responded
Kroll answered Rose: “Shep, I was following your lead.” The line turned Rose’s criticism back on him, but the preview does not provide enough of the full exchange to establish everything either man said in context.
