Spoilers for episode 15 of Queen of Tears. After Hae-in’s life-saving surgery, she wakes unable to remember her relationship with Hyun-woo. The penultimate episode turns their reunion into a struggle against memory loss and Eun-seong’s attempts to push Hyun-woo aside, then ends with Hyun-woo in sudden danger.
What happens in episode 15?
Episode 15 begins in the aftermath of Hae-in’s surgery. She survives, but wakes without memories of Hyun-woo and their relationship. The official tvN preview emphasized the question hanging over the episode: will she remember him?
For Hyun-woo, Hae-in’s recovery does not mean they can simply return to where they were. He tries to reach her while she cannot recognize him. Eun-seong takes advantage of that vulnerable position, attempting to control the story around Hae-in and edge Hyun-woo out of her life. These plot details are described in a contemporary Ready Steady Cut recap, rather than an official synopsis.
What does the ending cliffhanger mean?
The episode closes with a sudden threat to Hyun-woo. It leaves his safety—and whether he and Hae-in can find their way back to each other—unresolved as the story moves into its final installment. Episode 15 sets up that question; it does not provide the answer, and this recap does not spoil episode 16.

Why Hae-in’s memory loss changes the conflict
The episode shifts the couple’s struggle from the marital crisis that defined the series premise to a more immediate question: can Hyun-woo connect with Hae-in when she no longer remembers their shared history? Eun-seong’s effort to exploit that gap gives the memory loss consequences beyond the couple’s emotional separation. The dramatic tension comes from the difference between what Hyun-woo knows about their bond and what Hae-in can recognize after surgery.
