Kantara: Chapter 1 had crossed ₹400 crore worldwide by Day 6, Tuesday, October 7, 2025. The estimates published the following day differ: Hindustan Times put its six-day worldwide collection at ₹414 crore, while Sacnilk reported ₹410.84 crore. These are outlet-reported box-office estimates, not an audited official total.
Day 6 worldwide collection: two estimates
The two reported worldwide totals are close but not identical. Hindustan Times reported ₹414 crore through six days; Sacnilk’s tracker put the worldwide gross at ₹410.84 crore. Financial Express also reported that the film had crossed ₹400 crore worldwide, citing Sacnilk, but its article does not provide a separate independently verified total.

The figures should be read as source-specific estimates rather than averaged into a single number. Hindustan Times’ report by Abhimanyu Mathur was updated October 8, 2025; Sacnilk’s Day 6 tracker was also updated October 8, 2025. The collection day itself was Tuesday, October 7.
India collection: net and gross are different measures
India net is the domestic collection after entertainment tax; India gross includes that tax. The trackers report different values for each measure:
#1 Best Overall
| Outlet | India net through Day 6 | India gross through Day 6 |
|---|---|---|
| Hindustan Times (2025) | ₹290.25 crore | ₹348 crore |
| Sacnilk (2025) | ₹291 crore | ₹344.34 crore |
These paired figures should not be mixed across outlets or treated as interchangeable. Each source’s net and gross totals are its own reported estimates.
Day 6 domestic and overseas figures
Sacnilk reported ₹34.25 crore India net on Day 6, from 17,772 shows. Financial Express reported ₹33.5 crore India net for Tuesday, citing Sacnilk. That is a separate reported figure and differs from Sacnilk’s own Day 6 tracker; the sources do not establish a single reconciled daily total.

- Factory sealed DVD
For overseas business, Sacnilk estimated ₹6.50 crore gross on Day 6 and ₹66.50 crore cumulative overseas gross through six days. Hindustan Times described the film’s international total over the first six days as more than $7 million. These are different forms of reporting, and the dollar figure should not be converted into rupees and combined with Sacnilk’s estimate as though they were one calculation.
What the film is
Hindustan Times describes Kantara: Chapter 1 as a Kannada period action film and a prequel to 2022’s Kantara, set about a thousand years before that story. The report identifies Rishab Shetty as writer and director and lists Rukmini Vasanth, Jayaram and Gulshan Devaiah among the principal cast.
